Asus Monitor Confusion - Page 2

Hi once again guys.

Today I went to a retailers Superstore to see some monitors.
Although there wasn't a lot in the range, I did discover some differences (following ur advice) and did notice the PWM problem

1) The TN Panels....Suck!!
2) Asus VS239H-P (IPS) - could do the job for me but did not blow me away.
3) The only Dells I saw were...E2414H and UltraSharp U2713HM and they were both Very Good (even though I only want a 23" or 24")
4) I would've really liked to compare the P series Dells for a comparison as well as the Asus VS24AH-P (16:10 ratio)

Observation 1) is not for me so I'm looking at the IPS's (and actually prefer the Matte finishes)

So as I'm eliminating options, what would be ur opinion on the following;

Dell U2312HM (or 24") versus Dell P2314-H (or 24")
and how does the Asus VS24AH-P fit in....considering it has 16:10 ratio with some good features and affordable?

Once again thanks for your expertise....it has helped A LOT!!

I'd say there's little reason to pick the VS239H-P now unless the price is lower than the other options. Also not much reason to go with the older U2312HM unless it's cheap.

For the kind of work, I'd take 16:10. It overall shouldn't perform much differently than the others (I mean, 2014 Dell P series), but the VS24AH-P should be fine. You can always add a VESA mount to it if needed.

The VS239H and U2312HM are not PWM free and uses a grainier matte coating than the newer AH-IPS panels. The VS24AH is better than the P2314H but lacks a height adjustable stand.

http://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/VS24AH/specifications/

It says 441 mm (17.4") high including stand. Well, the flimsy excuse of whatever it is they're calling a stand. The panel itself is 324 mm (12.8") high. i.e. the stand is rather short and stubby. If you want to go this route, you may want to look at aftermarket stands.
