[bit-tech] Microsoft pulls Windows 8.1 Update 1 from WSUS

Thread Starter

"Microsoft's Windows 8.1 Update 1, a required update for future security fixes, has been pulled from its corporate WSUS distribution service following the discovery of an update-blocking flaw."
Quote:
Microsoft has withdrawn Windows 8.1 Update 1 from its Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) platform over reports that it causes client systems to ignore future patches, even as it warns that machines without the update will be left behind at the end of the month.

It was pulled?

I suppose they did a terrible job then, I am downloading and upgrading a machine through WSUS as we speak.

*Edit:
Cancelled the update to prevent any future issues.

Let me know how it goes. I too updated mine the other day and right-click doesn't bring options I need under Metro environment.
Well, I've cancelled the update I was pushing through WSUS.

I'm now updating my less-critical workstation and I'll see what kind of results I'll get.

This is such a joke lol

It also breaks Hyper-V backups if you update Windows Server 2012 R2.

Do they even test this stuff anymore?

I guess all they care about is the tablet users, anyway.
