Suggestions for £500 graphics card solution

Thread Starter
Ladies and gents, I've been out of the game for 18 months due to work and weight lifting commitments.

I'm happy with my rig with no desire to update anything other than my graphical solution. I'm going to give my 7950's to a sibling and invest £500 in a new solution.

With that in mind, what's the best solution for that price point these days? I play at 1440p.

I have no preference towards Nvidia or AMD. I also have no preference to single or multiple GPU set ups. I also don't mind buying second hand. I simply want the strongest performance that £500 can get me. I'll be looking at upgrading in July.

What are your suggestions?

Since your budget doesn't seem to be a problem and I really don't think you will need to use all 500 pounds, I would recommend either the 780 TI or the R9 290x. If you don't have a preference between Nvidia and AMD, I would go with the 780 TI because it has better overclocking capabilities and more headroom. Also IMO I think Nvidia will be prefered for your 1440p set up.

In conclusion, I vote 780 TI !!!!!

Hopefully that helps thumb.gifthumb.gifthumb.gifthumb.gifthumb.gif
