X1 LG DVD BURNER

Basically here is my problem

If I load one stick and manually set up ram timings and the clock from 1333mhz(or leave it here) to 1600mhz it works fine

If I load more than one stick, with the same settings, it wont even boot (Rapid BEEPs then off.) I have been able to get all three sticks to run after a reboot and rest bios, load optimized settings and it will work okay until you turn the computer off fully and turn it back on (Rapid Beeps then off)

Ive been able to get into the bios after and notice it usually declocks to ram with weird ram timings.
I've set the timings, but to be honest beyond that i'm lost in all the extra settings

Is there any thing I can do to fix this? or should I just get 1333mhz ram?

First off, only use two sticks of your RAM (that CPU is dual channel), the third stick may be causing some of your problems. Put them into the two white slots and go into your BIOS. Set your RAM to 1600MHz, 8-8-8-24, and 1.5V. Set the Command Rate to 2T (this is likely your issue).

Assuming that doesn't work;
1) Take 1 stick of RAM, and run MemTest on it for a couple passes. Move it to the next slot, do it again. Try all 4 slots.
2) Take a different stick of RAM, test it in the first slot with Memtest for a couple passes to make sure it's good on its own.
3) Now take those two sticks of RAM (in the white slots) run Memtest again.

You will likely need to set the BIOS timings again if it fails to POST and you have to reset it again.

I agree with CNTLurself regarding the test procedure. However, provided all of the sticks check out there is absolutely no reason that you can't run 3 DIMMs on this platform. The memory controller will do rank and channel interleaving where it has symmetry to work with and it will skip it when it runs out of symmetry. The reduced bandwidth when symmetry runs out is inconsequential as it is still 50X-500X faster than going to virtual memory.

Like a GTX660. Accesses the first 1.5GB of its 2GB VRAM interleaved across 3 channels, the last 512MB is accessed single channel. It's still better than having 1.5GB of VRAM, not by much, but it certainly doesn't hurt anything.

The reason I said two test it out 2 sticks only is that I have seen motherboards with an issue doing exactly what you described mdocod. When you add the 3rd stick, and the board hits the point where it needs to start interleaving, the board would become unstable and do things similar to what OP is describing.

Make sure it works using as few tech-tricks as possible, then build up from there. Test it with one stick, test it in dual-channel mode, if it works both of those ways, but not when you add a third stick (which also, several motherboards will only accept the 3rd stick into a particular slot, some require it in slot 2, others in 4, when your first two slots, 1 and 3, are populated) then you have to decide if you want to RMA the motherboard (it's possibly the CPU, but over 95% likelihood its the motherboard), or just run it with less RAM in it.

It seems to be working guys, I will have MY GFX guy Load it down for a while before i call it fixed.

Here are the literal screen shots of the settings I chose, and I verified they are sticking and NOT defaulting to something weird & Ive setup all my other BIOS Settings too & it is working GREAT.

I figured it wasn't ram as I tried each stick over six hours of P.S. Use & then no problems, which lead me to believe setting and or M/B Slot issue

I Did bump up the RAM to 1.6v, My old Crucial/OCZ stuff always needed a little more voltage so I stuck with that power hungry theory., And my Proc. is also swinging up properly too, I really wish this was MY Computer and I had a higher model board, I would be pushing this girl to 4.0-4.5 easy, Looks like the i5's want to party hardy!

Okay So i figured out it is NOT WORKING LOL

Here is the Deal, When I leave the computer off overnight, when I came in this morning Turned it on (Rapid Beep again) (Insert various expletives).

So I pull all the ram expect one stick, she boots right and I check the BIOS. GUESS WHAT! The settings for the ram have changed to 9/9/9/24 Screens below. and declocked the speed.

And On the channel that is in, all settings have been reverted to auto.

No other Settings have changed in BIOS, what should I do at this point? Look at? Just never turn it off lol?
Even after a couple restarts everything still sticks, Only ****s up after being off overnight.

Could your motherboard battery be dead/dying? Its rare but it happens after leaveing the computer off for some time the psu might not be able to charge it if its dead and then it will reset to stock settings. Its a long shot but for right now that just seems to be what I think of. If not try a different motherboard >_<

it possible, but NONE of the other settings are changed/defaulted, and I can get any of the other sticks to run now. except for one, I'm going to bring MY PSU tomorrow from my home rig and see if it works with all three with

Un-overclock your CPU while you're troubleshooting your issue. Run everything as stock as possible, make sure it works, then overclock things one by one. If I had known you'd OC'd your CPU, setting it back to stock is the first thing you do when you're having issues.
