Razer Goliathus 2014 Control mouse pad

Thread Starter
Does anyone have the 2014 edition of this pad? How does it compare to QcK / Talent? Interested in a comparison to these two pads specifically as they are my current go tos (tried literally everything else on the market). Thank you!

Oh, and I'm asking because I have a Newegg $25 GC I need to use up by the end of the month smile.gif

Weell I'm not sure why it's named 2014...

http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-mouse-mats/razer-goliathus-control-edition

it's "standard" revision of old fragged editions (omega/alpha). And it's on market for well.. a year or something like that

Only difference is the graphic that distinguish control from speed and it got stitched frame. Overall quality seems to be better. but didnt make any test comapring it to old one if you asking for that.

I have it in fact under my desk in box so i can test it on Alcor/mizar/Recon/havoc - only those mouses i have atm. And rat 7 maybe ill find somewhere.

It is not the same at all.
Grooves are different from the 2014 and previous version.
The coating is different.

And also the previous version fragged had stitched frames aswell and were 3mm thick as 2014 once.

Have the old fragged without stitches both speed and control, the previous fragged version with stitched and 3mm both speed and control, and the new 2014 both speed and control.

PS. I do not like the 2014 editions at all.
The new control gives my wrist a bad rash due to the thicker grooves, the speed edition have a weird coating which sucks.

I tracked down 2 new retail "2013" fragged 3mm with stitches and will use them over anything else, much better coating on the 2013 speed vs 2014 one.

I have a 2014 Control Extended and love it. I just had run of the mill hard mouse pads before though, so it was a huge upgrade for me. So I can't give any insight on the comparison. wink.gif

Well i forgot about that revision with stitched frame... and in closer look surface indeed looks bit different, but i get cm storm control-rx which i found good and did not used this so called "2014" version(thats not proper naming, more true it's 2013 version and versions earlier were called alpha/omega) for too long to get bad feeling in hand.

But really after year on market(i checked model code with with data i've found and this is really same, just google that code from newegg) some1 decided to call it "2014". Quite hilarious:) and marketing-wise

FYI this pad is awful. Went straight back to Newegg after about an hour of use.

The outer edge grooves are really uncomfortable; the glide/surface blows. YMMV
