It's the Haswell refresh, so no. It will use LGA 1150.

Actually, this is a double-edged answer. No it will not use a different socket, per-say. Though it will use a new socket (I think) since it has support for DDR4. Basically, you will have your standard Z87 boards, then there will be the Z97 line, which supports DDR4 and has the extra pins in the socket to allow its usage. So it will work in 1150, but it will also have its own board line.

Yes, but they are doing the same thing they are doing with devil's and making a second board for it, since main stream DDR4 is like 2-3 years away still.

Same here. What I was saying though, is that if you were to get, lets say the i7 4820k or the 4770k, you could get the newer processor that supports DDR4, then, when the motherboards that support DDR4 ram come down in price as well as the DDR4 becomes more mainstream, you can simply change motherboards. Thats what i was getting at.
