Need budget build for BF4 @60fps - Page 3

I think the kind of build the OP is looking for is going to be somewhere around an i5 4670k or fx 8xxx and maybe a 660ti/760/670, I suppose amd wise probably 270x-280(not x) but I dont have experience with amd gpu's.

Without a real budget, and assuming you have the money, get the 4670k but get a gtx770, you will be happy you did. The gtx770 and 280x (gtx680 and 7970) are really the sweet spot for 1080p gaming without compromising graphics. An SSD will be great for fast load times and 8GB (1600mhz is good enough) of memory is more than enough. CPU overclocking is so easy now a days it pays getting an unlocked one and a decent cooler, but you can get the beefy cooler later, either cpu at least get a cooler master hyper 212 evo cooler even if you dont plan to oc.

I think the new nvidia drivers AT LEAST cancelled the advantage amd had with mantle in bf4 but the good thing is that the nvidia drivers also are improving fps on several games, not just mantle games like amd. Look up the results from the 337.50 drivers, they did a lot on bf4 and few other titles, some games just single digit increases but a few games got double digit increases in fps. While I havents looked into it much but some were saying amd mantle helps lower end systems and nvidia new drivers help mid to high end systems more.

But not going amd gpu in bf4 is a misstake since mantle does give you alot more fps if enabled. But with no budget as you say it will be hard.

Nvidia's new 337.50 driver improved BF4 performance a lot on on their DX11 cards. It's a toss up right now as to whether nvidia or AMD has the better solution for BF4. Considering that BF4 is still buggy using Mantle, I'd actually go for the nvidia solution in this case.

Hello its me the thread starter.

Now I'm thinking that when playing 64 players I dont need max setings@60fps, That would be reserved for 32players and under. For 64 players I only need high@40fps

Also I was thinking about this build, would it be enough?

I would not do 4gb, let alone a single stick. Do 8GB, it will cost you probably another $20-30 but you should have 8GB for bf4. I think my memory use is 5GB when gaming on bf4, its been a while since I noticed.

This would be the minimum kind of case you should get, the one you listed only has one 120mm inlet and an 80mm out, horrible for gaming temps
Great case for the budget

Have no time to source best cpu/mobo but I know microcenter had I think the fx-8350 for $129 I think, or amazon a week ago.

If you are going the amd route a discount fx 83xx is the best choice and a better mobo. Still whats your budget really? You can always buy used components and save a buck..:/. If your budget is 670 dollars, I dont see that realistic enough to build a decent bf4 rigg with OS. You can buy win 8 legal for alot cheaper but its up to you to find out.

cod ghost seems to be the most RAM demanding game and according to GameGPU it only takes up 5gb.
To run dual channel mode properly you need matching sticks of memory. You can get 8gb memory and properly run dual channel for probably the same amount as what you have dedicated in your build. Tops $10-15 more than what your already spending. If you already have it that's one thing but buying that type of setup is unwise.

Even if it is $20 more its worth it.

$60 and thats just newegg

I run BF4 on max setting with 2xAA and get a steady 60fps with drops to 45fps occasionally. I have a Phenom II X6 1090T, 16GB RAM, HD7950 on a Asus Crosshair V Formula Z Motherboard. What I have posted above will do the job with room for upgrading later for the next set of games to be released. And it still less than $1000 TAKE NOTE INTEL BOYS. HE SAID BUDGET. THAT MEANS AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE WITH THE BEST HARDWARE POSSIBLE. $1600+ is not budget minded!

As for the Intel VS AMD that has started in the thread, STOP IT. Lets keep the discussion on track. He wants a budget build. Lets try to keep it under $1000 for budget purposes.

Since when cant you build an intel system under $1000? I dont think there was any fanboy bashing going on at all in here. We were all offering suggestions from both camps.
