Help needed with 3 display set up on 7950 gigabyte

Hello guys, i am sure you guys can and will help me once again, solution gods to all pc problems

So i'm a bit confused,

I have 2 monitors by asus and a samsung tv

So my gpu has the following inputs:

I/OHDMI * 1
DVI-I * 1
Mini DisplayPort *2

So hdmi is being used by my TV the dvi is being used by my 144hz monitor and now i'm looking for the correct set up to plug in my 2nd monitor vs248h-p, which supports:

D-Sub, DVI, HDMI

Now i'm NOT sure which cabel i'm supposed to be buying here, i'm going to post 2 links to a site where i purchase things here in austria, i hope you can help me with the right and hopefully cheapest solution here:

which cable would be correct or are they both?

1.DELOCK Kabel Displayport mini St > DVI24 St 1m http://www.e-tec.at/frame1/details.php?art=104983

Anschluss 1 : mini Displayport 20pin (20 pin - huh?? - sorry i don't know the difference)
Anschluss 2 : DVI-I 24

2. Sapphire ACTIVE MINI D-PORT TO SL DVI https://www.e-tec.at/frame1/details.php?art=127827 (my friend said i should take this cable otherwise i may run into issues- the exact reasoning behind this i'm not sure but it sure is the more expensive variant, so i thought i'd double check)

Anschluss 1 : mini DisplayPort
Anschluss 2 : DVI

*Anschluss = Connection

Thank you in advance!

#2 is the correct choice. The first one is a "passive" adapter, the second one is an "active" adapter. If you're wanting to run more than 2 monitors off of one GPU, you need to use active adapters or else they won't recognize.

Thanks for clarification.

damn.. 30 euros :'(

i find it much for a cable

There's actually a bit more to it than a regualr cable, which is why an "active" adapter will work but a "passive" will not - it's because (as I understand it) the active adapters ignore the lack of a clock signal and keep the monitor synced with the others on it's own, whereas a passive is just like any other cable simply passing through whatever signal it gets.

Add to that the fact that it's not the most widely used thing, and you end up with "an expensive cable."
