So sad much sadness really sad

50% loss on GPUs purchased new is nothing out of the ordinary. Keep in mind 280x is a 7970 and 3 years old.

I only got a offer of $230 for one of my 7970's with a $80 heat sink on it. I'm just going to hold out and see if prices ever balance out again, as there's no point for me to sell them for that much when mid-range GPU with crappy heatsink costs more than that. If the 7970 I currently use dies, I got a backup on hand. thumb.gif

As long as they have decent reference coolers then I don't mind, because seriously when you look at the Green team's reference offerings it puts AMD to shame
post #26 of 195
Definitely not happening this summer. We will probably see NVIDIA's first 20 nm offering in that time frame, and they get first dibs at TSMC so expect AMD 20nm late 2014-early 2015.

You've got a point. I can't believe the next 7870/R9 270X that sells tons of units will be only marginally better than a 7870XT. Now if that was the new 7850...

Really? I mean, we're expecting GCN 2.0 for this, right? At worst it'll be 1.1 again. It's basically a buffed 7870XT with 50% more ROPs in any case. I expect $200-250, depending on whether or not the miners keep being terrible people.
