Appraisal: Sapphire Radeon 7870 XT 2GB card CLOSED

Thread Starter
I'm considering purchasing a new card, an r9 280x, and would like to get my current card appraised. It would be several weeks before I choose to sell this card (if I choose to sell it), so this is more a probing venture than a price check.

I've owned this card for just over a year. It was played with light games for about 6 months and then I started back into gaming a bit heavier last fall and overclocked it to a stable 1200/1600, but I backed the memory down to 1500 and have run it at that for 6 months with light gaming. It's a good card, I saw some artifacting a while back and changed drivers to fix it.

I was thinking 185-200 shipped as my starting point. Any ideas?

I'd expect about $170-180 used , maybe $200 if you find a good buyer (it's on par with GTX 760)

This listing is not the same card and may not be as good as your Sapphire thus you could start at $200 but i think it will go for slightly less like $170 - $180

Just as a reference you can get a bad 270x for 180$ or a decent 270 for 200$ (also sapphire 270x's are ~200$ atm).
Supposedly the prices for used 290's are just about 330$ so if you can get over 175$ your gonna be lucky, as the 270/x's ""should"" be selling for under 150$ used (mining cards ofc)

Should be able to get $190.00

If you are getting a new card, I would hop on a R290 instead of a 280x.  280x's are good cards but a little extra greenback for alot more horsepower.  Spend the extra bucks and get the space heater....  That's what I would do!

Thanks, I'll wait on a few more comments, but after looking it seems like 175 is the average quote on a used one.

The PowerColor Myst is the same Tahiti GPU version 7870 as my Sapphire 7870 XT, just a different producer. thumb.gif Thanks!

The price difference between the r9 280x and the r9 290 is about 140 dollars. Is the performance jump worth it? Also, I'm running a single 1080p monitor atm. I plan on expanding in the near future to have 2 (maybe three if I can remove bezels biggrin.gif)

EDIT: I decided to check the market place and I may try and pick up a used r9 290x instead of a new 280x or 290. It all depends on the way things go. Thanks for the help!

I sold my 7870 XT for $170 a few months ago so $165 sounds reasonable to me. thumb.gif
