Appraisal: Sapphire Radeon 7870 XT 2GB card CLOSED

I'm considering purchasing a new card, an r9 280x, and would like to get my current card appraised. It would be several weeks before I choose to sell this card (if I choose to sell it), so this is more a probing venture than a price check.

I've owned this card for just over a year. It was played with light games for about 6 months and then I started back into gaming a bit heavier last fall and overclocked it to a stable 1200/1600, but I backed the memory down to 1500 and have run it at that for 6 months with light gaming. It's a good card, I saw some artifacting a while back and changed drivers to fix it.

I was thinking 185-200 shipped as my starting point. Any ideas?

Just as a reference you can get a bad 270x for 180$ or a decent 270 for 200$ (also sapphire 270x's are ~200$ atm).
Supposedly the prices for used 290's are just about 330$ so if you can get over 175$ your gonna be lucky, as the 270/x's ""should"" be selling for under 150$ used (mining cards ofc)

Should be able to get $190.00

If you are getting a new card, I would hop on a R290 instead of a 280x. 280x's are good cards but a little extra greenback for alot more horsepower. Spend the extra bucks and get the space heater.... That's what I would do!

Thanks, I'll wait on a few more comments, but after looking it seems like 175 is the average quote on a used one.

The PowerColor Myst is the same Tahiti GPU version 7870 as my Sapphire 7870 XT, just a different producer.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reference points there.

The price difference between the r9 280x and the r9 290 is about 140 dollars. Is the performance jump worth it? Also, I'm running a single 1080p monitor atm. I plan on expanding in the near future to have 2 (maybe three if I can remove bezels

EDIT: I decided to check the market place and I may try and pick up a used r9 290x instead of a new 280x or 290. It all depends on the way things go. Thanks for the help!

I'd say $175.

Thanks all! I think I'm going to call this closed. The consensus is that $200 is a high number to expect if I sell it, and that 175 is a better number to shoot for. Thanks guys
