[Various] H1Z1: F2P zombie survival MMO developed by SOE (Forgelight engine) - Page 6

I think this game looks very interesting, but I hope that with all these zombie games, Dayz will make a push to get their bugs fixed.

Did you not read the title of this post or know anything about h1z1? ITS FREE TO PLAY. So in what way are we spending money? The longer I stay on this forum (which is far longer than most of the idiotic people that post here) I realize that most people just post without thinking about anything at all to do the main story involved.

How about instead of everyone QQ'ing and bashing SoE, they wait till gameplay footage is revealed (pending later tomorrow) and maybe then cast some judgement.

Heh...I don't think you fully understand what "free to play means" and SOE's definition of it is worse than normal...EQ2 was pretty good for a while in this reguard, but they really ramped up the item store since.

SOE will forever be one of my least favorite companies. It is like they don't even think about what they are changing in their games or how the player base will react. Some times it is like they are purposely trying to get people to stop playing their games.

I don't know about Everquest, but they did an ok job in PlanetSide 2. You can either grind the good weapons, or overcome their limitations with skills, since most weapons differ more in style than damage. You'd be sidegrading more than upgrading. But yeah, I hear a lot of bad things about EverQuest. Let's hope this new game will be more like PlanetSide 2.

On the h1z1 reddit page Smedly and countless other h1z1 employee's have said that they will not add anything to the game that will make it Pay to Win. He also says it several times in the interviews he has done. I understand they have a bad history at doing bad things, but to completely say "Screw SoE and Smedly" is very close minded, at the least don't spew negative comments about this particular game or about the company till they give you reason on this title. Tomorrow at 5pm pacific time they will be hosting a live twitch stream. We will all be able to see the game in its current state and be able to determine if it is going to be a well thought out game or just cheese.

From the way DayZ has been turning out and the fact Dean Hall has completely jumped ship and no longer even works directly with the team is laughable at best. DayZ is a dying game and BIS knows that but just saved their dying company by selling an Alpha to a game that may never reach retail. DayZ will become the next WarZ, so H1Z1 has a chance at breaking the mold of crap games made from indie developers that promise to much and never deliver.

Planetside 2 was awesome. They implement the excellent engine, server technologies, and keep the transactions in the aesthetic realm; SOE has a winner with this one. People crying about "another zombie game" obviously didn't play much DayZ and WarZ. Those games are tried to be what everyone wanted, but have failed miserably. I'm an avid player of DayZ and cannot believe the bugs, the game feels like your walking on egg shells the whole time. You bump into another player and you risk breaking your legs, inventory items disappear out of nowhere, and the engine is so optimized I play it on low with a 780 just to keep the FPS acceptable. They really don't have to try hard to destroy every other zombie survival out there at the moment. The fact it's free to play is just icing on the cake imo.

SoE's notion of "Free to Play" basically means ... you can download it for free, create a character for free, log in at a lower priority for free, get even less technical support for free, and play a gimped game for free, but if you want to actually stand a chance to enjoy the game ... buy a subscription or keep your credit card on file for a whole bunch of micro-transactions.

I didn't QQ posts, I made several of them voicing these concerns and gave examples, but the Moderators deleted them.

Game play and video footage isn't the issue, it is the GAME MANAGEMENT which is of concern to me and LOTS of others. That has EVERYTHING to do with SoE and their policies and HISTORY.

Like I said on my deleted post, Smedley has a long HISTORY of lying to peoples face, literally, as in the last two times I went to Fan Faire.

I don't know about Everquest, but they did an ok job in PlanetSide 2. You can either grind a bit for the good weapons (and by grind I mean play the game and have fun), or overcome their limitations with skills, since most weapons differ more in style than damage. You'd be sidegrading more than upgrading. But yeah, I hear a lot of bad things about EverQuest. Let's hope this new game will be more like PlanetSide 2.

And yes, I repeated my post.
