[Project Log] Black and Blue Upgrade path

Hey guys! I finished my primary system around 4 months ago and I am loving it, although there is still work to be done. I am pleased with the aesthetics so far... ish. I have been having an itch for a while to sleeve my own cables as my extensions are great but my full length PSU cables are way too long and are creating a rat's nest in the back. I am going to remake all of my PSU cables using the existing wire and am going to make them all shorter. Another thing that has bugged me is that the fans in the case do not fit the build, they are some cheap clear Cooler Master fans. Not saying CM is bad, but these are some of the worse fans in their lineup, so I will be doing a minor upgrade of installing some new fans (any reccomendations? The Gentle Typhoons are out of stock everywhere I look!). Originally I really wanted to add motherboard and RAM waterblocks, but the top radiator mount with fans doesn't allow for any waterblocks/tubing runs up there, and a RAM waterblock would get in the way of a fan, so I am sadly going to stick with just GPU and CPU. I have also recently run out of storage on my main 320 GB HDD so I have getto-rigged some old 80 GB Hitachis by Duct-taping them together and sticking them on top of my PSU, so the build has some bad aesthetics right now. I will be sure to keep you guys posted when I purchase the first upgrade, and I might be bouncing some ideas off of you guys as well as asking for appraisals for items I might want to sell. Thanks, and I will see you guys later. thumb.gif

If you are looking for some fans and would be willing to put aesthetics slightly over performance, the Corsair AF and SP fans look nice. They are fairly common, but they add a nice, fairly simple look to a build in my opinion.

Thanks for the reply. I think I am going to go with the Corsair's consider the High Performance models seem to have excellent Static Pressure. Thanks for the input!

No problem. I currently use 2 of the SP120 fans and one AF120 fan in my case and I can't hear them at all. Though they are the quiet versions, I can't imagine performance would be much louder.
