Because its actually slightly more expensive than the platinum seasonic unit and the exterior isn't as clean (it has that giant sticker on top of the unit)

Can you check to see if there are capsitors under the heatshrink on the cables? You should be able to see them without taking anything apart on your wires. I believe there are some on the 6 pin, 8 pin CPU, and the 24 pin motherboard.

I thought that all capacitors were round. Those are squared...

Are there any round bulges on graphics card power cable? I circled in red what suspect to be a capacitor, on an image I posted

?

I'm trying to ask a question: are there any squared capacitors like that? Whatever is under that heatshrink is squared. I thought that all capacitors were round. If not, then that could be a capacitor or it could be more than one. If I'm right though that all capacitors are round, then what we're seeing is not a capacitor or capacitors.

Oh gotcha. There probably are square capacitors but I would image those would only be used on circuit boards. No the capacitors on the cables would only be cylindrical, like a mini soda can. The zip ties are square, which you should see those on most of the cables.

Look at the full-size version of the image (it's HUGE). I don't know what's under that heatshrink, but whatever it is, it seems to be the top of something that is wrapped around the whole cluster of cables. It appears that the top is some sort of buckle, like perhaps for a zip-tie. I don't know.

Yeah that is definitely a capacitor soldered on to two of the wires under the heat shrink.

Well poop. :/
So the Evga 850G2 almost certainly has capacitors, and the Seasonic apparently has pins that don't come out of the connectors and is loaded with double wires.

No. If it were a capacitor, then that thing would be round. I'm not seeing a round, cylindrical object and I don't see how you are either. It's not round. It's square with rounded edges (not sharp). I mean, it has rounded edges like the corners of windows in Aero Glass vs. the corners of Windows in Windows 8 and 8.1.

I see what looks to be like some kind of thing wrapped around the sleeve underneath the heatshrink with a buckle-like thing on top. I do not see a round, cylindrical object.
