The top Pach is talking about is to mount the pump directly under the res. But the res would have to be vertical for that top to be used efficiently.
And you don't need a too anyways. Those claims that pumps perform better ate just marketing ploys. I have yet to see a single test that shows any significant improvments with a too.
And the DDC without a top is plenty of power for you.
Martin got some really interesting results actually, a pump top res outperforms a separate res, but JUST a pump outperforms them both.
Of course real world performance will be entirely unaffected by this, literally won't make any difference whatsoever.
So yeah, just choose what you can fit/what looks better. It's all about aesthetics, though I can see how a pump top res can simplify routing a lot in some situations.
