Okay so... I can't decide between the three I need some input all are 8+2 phase design and both coolers seem good. I'm planning to get it at my local fry's soon. I already narrowed it down to these so if you can try not to recommend a different brand. Oh and does anyone know what memory chips are inside each of these cards as of now? elpida? samsung? hynix? I'm also kind of considering the gigabyte ghz edition, but I'd have to order that online because fry's only has the reg version. BUT I don't really want to order it online so I'm leaning towards the other two more. The reason for that is because it's easier to return or replace the card at fry's if it has a problem. I should also say I'm price matching the cards to newegg/ncix.

You should get the EVGA classified if you have the option. Can overclock on air to 780ti levels of performance. If not available than I would still say to get the EVGA card. You get the quiet ACX cooler, EVGA top-tier support, and the option to step-up to 6gb 780 in a few weeks (or whenever the 6gb cards come out).

I am looking at getting a 780 at the moment so this thread will be handy for me! I have ruled out the 'Classy' because of the white LED lights on the side ruining the look (can't turn them off etc). I've heard good things about the ACX cooler though, does the Superclocked version also have the lights? What is different about the EVGA FTW edition over the SC or Classy?

I would get the EVGA 780 SC if there are no lights but otherwise I am looking at the Gigabyte GHZ edition. I will vote GHZ edition on the poll!

I am with GIGABYTE GV-N780OC-3GD REV2.0 for a three months, the card is with elpida memory, max voltage is 1.21v, max stable 24/7 core clock is 1241 and 6600 for the memory. Max temperature under long load is 72 degrees. Fans are spinnig at max 55%. The card becomes hearable at 60% fan speed and above 70% is loud. Personal opinion: very nice card smile.gif

You must seriously be crazy. You would give up owning a card that is basically a cheaper 780ti simply because of some LEDs that you will never see? The FTW is just the largest factory overclocked card; the Classy is designed for high overclocks and uses the top components, custom pcb, and high power phase design; the SC just means higher overclock.

I would have said EVGA because they used to offer lifetime warranties, but I guess XFX is the only company to do that now.

Thanks for your opinions guys! The EVGA card dropped $20 since the last time I checked Newegg its now $509.99, $489.99 with a $20 rebate I'm highly leaning towards it now, but I'm still open for opinions.

Prices:
GIGABYTE: $499.99 Free Shipping
GIGABYTE GHZ: $519.99 + $5.92 Shipping
EVGA FTW: $509.99 + $20 rebate $489.99 Free Shipping

Yeah I would get the CLASSIFIED with the 14+3 phase design + much higher power target + other oc features if I had extra money haha tongue.gif the FTW is like in the middle with a 8+2 phase design + somewhat higher power target vs SC which is basically ref with 6+2.

I read the lights don't turn off unless you turn off power supply and my pc is in my room so it would light me up at night = very annoying. Yes I would pass it up because of some lights that disrupt everything! biggrin.gif They would shine right out my windowed case all the time also, I've read they are annoying!

Almost all cards have led lights over the PCI-E connectors on the side of the card sticking out which let you know if the card is getting power or not. Both of my current cards have them, and both of my last two cards did. They are hardly noticeable at all, and the LEDs from mobo's put out a lot more light at night.

Hey just stopping by to say I went out and bought the EVGA GTX 780 FTW I ended up getting one with hynix memory fans are quiet but it starts getting audible at 70%. ASIC Quality is 68% I don't know if that matters anymore but I'll just put it. Thanks again! thumb.gifbiggrin.gif
