I love it. I think it looks great and fills a large niche.

Still useful for older 4770Ks I guess. And the i5 might still get the same thermal paste we don't really know yet.
We don't know if Devil's Canyon will actually use solder since it was just supposed to better TIM.

Also, it's the IHS and die gap that is the major cause of the temps.
Once again...

I thought the only "real-life" improvement would be this actually...MSI bets otherwise? rolleyes.gif

this plus an ek naked block... it doesn't get much better.. though I have to wonder are they just doing this because of the z77/87 trend or is this something that they have real experience with and see that it's going to be something we do again. I'm thinking it's more along the lines of the former.. rather than the latter.

Nice one MSI! I hope they sell that bracket individually, its about time someone made this! Glad MSI still supports the modding community

Awesome, i wanna see gigabytes lineup though. Probably go with gigabyte for my next build if they release an XL ATX board.

XXXXL? Wow...it's almost like they're trying to imply something.

Anyways, this is really neat. I can see that bracket as an incentive for some people to delid, which can be a good thing and a bad thing. I know some people who would do just that and destroy the die, and if Haswell refresh is soldered, oooh buddy. The average uninformative guy attempting to delid a 4790K will be in for a nice surprise (especially if Intel decides to solder certain batches or something) biggrin.gif I guess watercoolers and sub-zeroers can rejoice with this, though, since those are the markets this bracket mainly targets.
