I've just installed the RC 14.4. Same issue. I can see the cursor on a black screen when it wakes up. I press ctrl-alt-del and I see the menu and my wallpaper; click anything and back to two blank screens.

I'm running one of my 27" monitors off the R9 280x, and one off the HD4000, and using Lucid Virtu MVP. I wonder if that plays into it.

Have you tried the actual 14.4 release candidate that came out two days ago?

It's solved all of the problems I've been having with the 14.3 and 14.4 drivers, relative to the 13.12s.

Nope, didn't solve it. I see no options in the Advanced section of Power Savings options to change what the GPU does on different profiles either; well, only the intel one it appears. My understanding is the discrete GPUs do their own power management.

I'd sure love to know how to change my Mantle frame pacing....

In your bf4 folder make file called.

user.cfg

Inside that you put the command

renderdevice.framepacingmethod 1

Or you can type it in the game console as maps are loading.

Isn't frame pacing only relevant for crossfire?
Anyway even the 14.4RC caused problems-25fps in bf4 where I used to get 65-- on both mantle and dx11, plus constant crashes of the game.
Back to 13.12.
Edit: used latest display driver uninstaller this time instead of just AMD's uninstall tool. Also updated AMD Pixel Clock Patcher, had an older version. Things are running much faster, back to pretty much exactly where they were (55-75fps @2560x1440 ultra) though I haven't had time to check bf4 stability or sleep/wake issues.
It's too bad I don't see a benefit from mantle. But I'd just be satisfied to get stability.

Iv used the free version that comes with the motherboard and with stuff like benchmarks it gives a pretty good boost in performance.
But when i tryed it with games, i would get artifacting and stuff like that.

It might better if you had the retail version with the updated drivers.

Except that this appears to be the exact symptoms of a problem that many people are having - are we all using Lucid Virtu? I doubt it. Anyway I'll try disabling it and see if that affects it. It IS still happening on a totally clean install of 14.4 RC 1.0.

Just got a BSOD, no doubt from the 14.4 RC:
On Fri 4/25/2014 4:53:54 AM GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\042414-4851-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0x75BC0)
Bugcheck code: 0xC5 (0x8, 0x2, 0x0, 0xFFFFF8000300CA9B)
Error: DRIVER_CORRUPTED_EXPOOL
file path: C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
company: Microsoft Corporation
description: NT Kernel & System
Bug check description: This indicates that the system attempted to access invalid memory at a process IRQL that was too high.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem. This might be a case of memory corruption. More often memory corruption happens because of software errors in buggy drivers, not because of faulty RAM modules.
The crash took place in the Windows kernel. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver that cannot be identified at this time.

Back to 13.12...again!
