Anyone know when Nivdia may launch their next line of graphics cards? and would it be worth waiting to upgrade?

I'm wanting to purchase the EVGA dual classified 780 ti, for around $760.00, but if i am going to drop that amount of cash on a card, would it be worth waiting until the next line of cards?

The maximum amount of time i'd be willing to wait is until the beginning of June this year. I want to have the best card i can possibly get for the future, but i also want to be able to play Watch_Dogs in all of its delicious Nvidia PhysX filled glory.

No one knows exactly when the 800 series is coming out. The rumour for most of the year was 2nd half 2014 (and it came from reliable sources), but recently their have been claims of delayed production of 20nm at TSMC that would push them all the way back into early 2015. Your guess is about as good as anyone's at the moment.

If you did buy an EVGA 780ti and the 800 series came out within 90 days you would be within your step-up time frame and could just use that anyways. That is one of the big advantages of buying EVGA.

just get a card now, the new nvidia cards probably wont be out until late november at the earliest, and even then they will be -

A. Ridiculously priced

B. Have crap stock coolers, better than AMD crap stock coolers, but they are still crap.

C. Probably only a 20% performance increase, and thats after waiting all of 7+ months for them to release.

D. the 780ti can match the performance of them (probably) after a moderate overclock, which the classified can easily achieve.

F. Reference model cards will be voltage locked meaning their overclocking abilities will take a swift kick in the baby maker.

Get a 780ti now and wait for the 980 to release, avoid the 880.

you have to also remember that even when the reference 8 series cards release you would have to wait another couple months for the non-reference classified cards to release. You still have a decent amount of time to wait for a 880 Classy.

The 780 ti classy is an amazing card and right now the best 2 cards are the ti classy and kingpin classy.
