Remove all unused PCI slot covers for more airflow out the back. Open case door if it's still getting too hot when gaming.
First and second links in my sig explain PWM control and case cooling a little better.

Thanks, Ill take your tips in account, I already have the case a little bit above the floor

I'll try to add the fan you mentioned in the bottom and, since the V8 GTS it's ou tof the question (could have clearence issues with the first PCI port) I'll add a Hyper 212
post #12 of 22
I would not recommend a Hyper 212. Let us assume that you will overclock in the future. This is overclock.net after all. So what I would say is this. An NH-D14 from Noctua from air. Or the dual tower Phantecs cooler which is a bit better than the D14. If you are looking at water. I would say H80, water 2.0 Pro, NZXT Kraken X40.

An evo onsale for 25 bucks for that cpu. Why buy a cooler that cost more then your cpu does?

Problem with a 212 is it's a great cooler. But struggles with FX heatloads. You won't get above 4.5GHz on a 212 on a chip that is capable of 4.8GHz and above. His mobo is capable enough. So complete the package with a cooler that is. It doesn't need to be a crazy amount. I think a good dual tower air cooler will be more than sufficient since they can take most of the octo's to 4.7Ghz. So the hexa FX should be able to do 5 on a dual tower.

I keep editing this list of top coolers. Think it's reasonably complete and current.

Cooler size comparison
Here is a collection of coolers and their size. Several are newly out or released:

Well, I've never posted actual computer code here, but generally you want syntax highlighting for ease of reading, including colored numbers (in addition to the monospace font, which is what we're after here).

The parser here boldfaces typical keywords like if, else, in, return, etc. so at least we're not dealing with arbitrary-looking bold in the above! Well, it looks like the x's are getting bolded.

WOW

Huge thanks for the help guys

So, the 212 it's a good cost-performance option, but not the "best" if Ill try to get the most out of my CPU. wich Im positive I'll try in the future

So, I'll try to get a Dar Rock Pro 2/3 wich according to some sites it's on pair with the NH-D14 (wich to me it's ugly as hell) with some better looks, and about the same cost
