yeah somehow pc-centric genres becoming popular again is bad. apparently, all we should strive for are poorly optimized console ports

or "original" games that arent "original" at all.

i havent checked, but are there any " call me when this game isnt GTA V" in the watchdog threads?

Orcs Must Die and OMD 2 are great games.

Lets not forget that while the 3 or 4 most prominent Multiplayer Online Battle Arena games are all extremely similar there is plenty of room in the genre for growth and diversity.

No other "moba" that I know of takes a third person over the shoulder perspective and combines it with a tower defense.. If this game is similar to anything it would be most similar to Super Monday Night Combat which I would use "tower defense" instead of "moba" to describe both games..

I am very much looking forward to this and I think free to play is the right way to go with this.

people just demand too much in terms of creativity and change in games. the market is becoming more mature, more possible avenues for games have been explored. and as a lot of indie games prove, just because you have an interesting and creative concept for a game doesn't mean the gameplay is actually going to be appealing or deep. it's like when people complain that new smartphones aren't revolutionary enough anymore.

"there aren't enough goat simulators on the market today." lol
