PLEASE HELP, Zowie FK problem :(!

Someone help -- I'm at my wit's end with my FK! I started using this amazing mouse on a Ratpadz and was a very, very happy gamer. Malfunction speed wise, I noticed the tracking getting worse and worse at about 2 months, though. Accuracy seemed fine. It got to the point where I couldn't even do a medium-speed swipe with my mouse without the cursor locking up.

I tested the mouse again with a Puretrak Talent and it worked perfectly. I got over 5 m/s top speed on Enotus with it, but I hate soft pads. So I said it might be that my pad was worn out. Got an MM400 which is a DREAM to swipe on and I'm getting the same problem! Enotus sometimes gives my max speed to be 1.5 m/s before it locks, which is totally unacceptable. For some reason it gets to 2.5 sometimes.

Anyway I'm wondering what I can do at this point. Here I'm stuck with a dream mouse and mousepad combo, all I've ever needed, and I'm getting tracking issues! It's SO FRUSTRATING!

Below is a picture of what I think might be a problem. My Ratpadz kind of arched in the middle and it scratched the edge of the Zowie lens. You can see where the plastic flattens a little at the top right corner. Would that affect tracking?

If it tracked well for 2 months on the Ratpadz, then it must be a sensor problem. In my experience, most good optical mice don't track that well on hard pads, but the fact it was working ok for 2 months is strange. You need to get hold of Zowie and see what they say.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's a sensor problem now... I swiped the heck out of my Deathadder 3.5G on the MM400 and it tracked perfectly. Either that scratch is messing up the tracking, the lens is dirty, or Zowie's custom lens just does terribly with hard mats. In any case I'm waiting for a reply from Zowie at the moment.

If anyone else is still around, I'd like to hear about their experience if they've used a Zowie in conjunction with a hard mat smile.gif

My FK '14 worked fine on a Func hard pad. I haven't really tried it on anything other than that, though.

In my experience most hard mats work fairly well with 3090s as long as they are nonreflective and textured.
