TF2 crashes with nvidia 335.23 driver

so I can play bf3, dirt3, pretty much any game except tf2. in tf2, on 335.23 driver it crashes every 15 mins. ive tried all the drivers around that release and it crashes around the same time. tf2 is not that graphicly intense. it does the same thing. it hiccups, I can hear sounds loop for about 10 secs, then it shows desktop with a graphics driver error. When it fixes itself I can all tab back to tf2 and hear all the sounds but no video, just a black screen. Any ideas?

Have you tried not playing TF2? Did it make a difference?

I'm sorry, man. Late Friday afternoon.

It does sound like a driver issue. I would suggest going back to the previous driver, or the last one that worked. I'm not sure that performance on the 2xx series is getting much improvement from the latest drivers, anyway.

Why would anyone do that?

Have you been able to play tf2 before and just can't right now? When you say you've tried all the drivers around, are you referring to older drivers or some variations of the same drivers?

Just for kicks, I would probably take off the shroud on the GPU and hit it with some compressed air. I was getting crashes and bad performance on tf2 a while ago and it was because there was more dust on my card then I realized. It's unlikely the same problem, but worth a shot.

with this rig no. I just got it up and running and since day one, on multiple OS installs its done it. temps are not going above 70c. ive tried all the newest drivers from 332.xx to newest out. and they all crash. but only this game. I can play eq2 for hours, bf3 for hours, just tf2 crashes

Actually, it sounds like a Steam/TF2 issue. Might want to re-install Steam, or repair TF2 installation...I forget what the exact procedure for doing that is, but it's do-able. Right-click on the game in your Steam library and see if you get any repair-type options.

It's been multiple installs of the game(4 on different os). It might be game related but I would think tf2 would crash, not Nvidia driver.
