[Anandtech] Samsung Galaxy S 5 Review - Page 4

I was really frustrated with the S3 for a while. Tmobile put sent out that horrible 4.3 update and it caused no end of issues. They finally patched it a month or so ago and it seems to have fixed a lot of the problems. If they had not, I may have been more inclined to replace it.

My GF got the S5 on the 10th 1 day before release. She's loving it and I think it's really nice. The heart beat monitor is kinda cool and so is the fingerprint scanner. I'm fine with my Note 3 though. biggrin.gif

....sand will destroy glass.

Water-resistence is nice but you have to deal with the little flap and water has never been issue for me personally.
Once again...

All those sensors that Sammy has put in the S5 are gimmick, they will get old pretty quickly.

I don't know how to interpret the conclusion. Are they saying that a combo between what Samsung offers in the S5 and what HTC offers in the M8 would be the perfect phone, or are they giving readers a wink to just go with the M8 because of the build quality? Yes I didn't get the wink.

You know. If the plastic acts as an insulator and ultimately throttles the SoC, does that mean it isn't as hot to the touch as metal phones?

Are those benchmarks simply not in native code?
The physics is just raw processing I think, whereas the SunSpider test has javascript engines involved. Not really a good comparison for processing speed unless it's between the same browsers. Also for some reason... the physics scores for the 5 and 5S are identical. Not sure why.

Even though HTC doesn't come outright and say it is water resistant apparently it is to some degree
