GELID Icy Vision rev2 air cooler OR Corsair H60 water cooler for ASUS GTX 680 reference card?

Thread Starter
I can either go with GELID Icy Vision rev2 air cooler or with Corsair H60 water-cooler for my ASUS GTX 680 reference card. I can get either one for FREE at this point. Which one should I get? I am afraid that with Corsair H60, there will be no cooling for VRM, TPU chips (or whichever ones get hot on GTX 680) and RAM chips... GELID Icy Vision rev2 provides small heatsinks for such chips.

Which one would you go for? Which one is likely to provide me with lower temps on my GTX 680 GPU? Which one is noisier?

I do not plan on doing any hardware volt-modding. I already have GTX 680 flashed to GTX 770 and running 1300/7000 on stock air cooler!

I was also thinking of getting separate RAM and VRM/TPU heatsinks to put on GTX 680 in addition to to the H60!? Or is there some custom/ghetto way to create a contraption that cools RAM and VRM chips while H60 cools the GPU?

I would personally go with the Corsair H60 and since you won't have to spend any money on it get some enzotech copper VRM heatsinks to attach the the memory and VRM modules. You'll get better temps that way, and it'll be quieter depending on the fans you choose for the H60. Just make sure you have good airflow over the heatsinks.

EDIT: There is also the option of getting the NZXT G10 GPU bracket adapter which will come with heat sinks and a fan that will blow over them to keep the VRMs cool.

Sadly though, the H60 is a coolit designed unit, so it isn't compatible which means you would still have to get separate VRM heatsinks as stated before.

Here's a list of compatible coolers with the Asetek design from Corsair that you could use the G10 adapte with
Asetek coolers
- H50
- H55
- H70/H75
- H40
- H105
- H110

Coolit coolers
- H60
- H80/H80i
- H100/H100i

The g10 wont fit square pump blocks but my gpu cool unit will work with both.
However you would need seperate ram/vrm sinks n fan atm
