I can't contain myself. :) I must update this thread because WOW. I love this card!
So far, my Crysis 3 performance has been exactly what I was looking for: no less than 40 FPS! Ever! I use V-Sync (screen tearing is very distracting for me), so it's anywhere from 40-60, usually 45-55, but easily 60 in some areas. This is at stock. Stock for this card is 993/6010, not 941/6008! That was a nice pleasant surprise.
So, I just overclocked it, but I don't know if it's stable yet. It's at 1019/6010, with 1.175V. Power Limit is at 110% with the Temp limit to 95°C and prioritized. So far, I played Crysis 3 for just a few minutes in the area where you use the zip line and then go down to the Mind Carrier where the Ceph worship Prophet like he's the Alpha Ceph. I continued on after that through the giant open area until I went up through the building onto the next part where you have to get into the vehicle and just drive for a minute or so (where Prophet tells Claire "Just 5 more minutes"). I didn't get into the vehicle. Instead, I just exited the game because I was just like, WOW. lol I had to look at my framerates and frametimes!!! It was as smooth as glass that whole time! I will go back and play it at stock, but I just can't contain myself for right now!
I regret that I never tested the performance with my GTX 580, but I am definitely feeling a difference. It's pretty big! It feels even bigger with this slight 2.6% overclock! So, what were my framerates and frametimes? LOL They were just as I had suspected: mostly 60 FPS and between 15 and 20ms almost the entire time! This card is sick! :) Of course, that's 1680x1050, but still, this is Crysis 3 we're talking about here, completely maxed out to the highest possible settings for each setting, except AA, which I have at FXAA due to a visual preference. lol
So yeah, wow. I'm one extremely happy customer. I apologize that it took me so long to finally get around to this, but the Freelancer bug bit me on the day I got the card in the mail and I have been playing that non-stop ever since. It was only today that I went back to Crysis 3. lol My poor card was probably like, "Freelancer? Really? You buy me and then you play nothing but Freelancer? What's wrong with you?" hehe What can I say? I love Freelancer! However, I like Crysis 3 even more than I did before now that I have the GTX 780.
OH HEY, and the TEMPS! It never went above 74°C with a fan speed of 63%. That's with it completely on automatic: no custom fan profile whatsoever (I forgot to enable it hahaha). It was nice and quiet.
