Old 570 won't render 3d after taking it apart and replacing cooler

Hey all,

So I had a 570 that I had a waterblock on. I got a 780, so I broke down my loop and hook the block off the 570 and put the factory heatsink and cooler back on. I installed it in a spare windows 7 system I have and it boots into windows and displays that fine. The problem is that when I try to run a render test in GPU-Z, I just get a grey screen instead of an image and it puts no load on my card. I also tried Evga Scanner X furry E test and it did put load on my card, but wouldn't render the image either. However, when I did the tessellation + dof test, that did render. I have no idea what's wrong, this worked back in August of last year and I was extra careful putting everything back together.

Edit: I also can't either of the fluid Physx tests. It just opens a blank window then immediately closes it.

Install these and try again:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=35
http://www.nvidia.co.uk/download/driverResults.aspx/73810/en-uk

If you still have issues, I would think the card has died.

Thank you so much! Installing the DX9 runtime's did it! smile.gif I'm actually going to use it for a dedicated Physx beside my 780, but wanted to make sure it still worked and what my temps were, to make sure I put the TIM on good.

You would not believe how many GPU's I've saved across the world just by providing that link I gave you. smile.gif

Glad it is working!

Lol, I never installed them because all I did was fold on that machine with my gtx 260, so never thought to do it.

gtx570 I would recon might just decrease your framrate due to added latency. It is a powerful card though in its own so I would be interested to see if there is any improvement at all.
