Most suitable of air and water cooling for me

Thread Starter
hi ..

the story i want to begin is about the PC parts i want to purchase

where it's mainly for gaming with other applications to multitasking ..

i learned 8350 is good for multitasking and 4670k is good for gaming

so i chose 4670k because i'm more for gaming and 4670k of course is good with multitasking too ..

the rest of the parts are:

MSI gaming Z87 G45
EVGA 770
EVGA G2 850W
300r windowed
corsair 8GB RAMs
WD blue 1TB
VG278HE

====== everything is fine and cool, except with cooling

1. i was deciding with h100i because it was so popular in pcpartpicker

then i posted a previous thread about recommendations about the parts, and h100i was included

then members of this forum suggested that i don't need h100i

air cooling is efficient too ..

and I don't know how h100i is working ??!!

do i have to buy a reservoir or what??

is it that you fill the radiator with water and with no feedback reservoir.

then you have to supply it again??

2. i want to know what's best for me?

i'm in tropical region, and the temp in the room is often warm.

this video is more of the situation i want you to know

because they seem to be in not very cold room

also the temp went very high at 4.6GHz !! with air coolers ..

about 80s to 90s >> that's really high ..

i think these numbers are eligible to my situation .. it's possible

i don't want to pay more than $50 for air cooler like D14 and then i get high temps

There's absolutely no maintenance required, the fluid and pump are all in the unit. It's an all-in-one sealed unit that installs as easy as an air cooler but with the added benefit of liquid cooling. You just need two 120mm fan spots open on your case, which your 300r has up top however on Corsair's site they only recommend up to the H80i for Corsair liquid cooling in the 300r, probably for clearance reasons. Just get the H80i, it will do the job just fine.

Thing is, high end air coolers aren't really worse than pseudo water cooling kits. It is all about radiator size, water doesn't make cooling magically better, if radiator is small, or similar size to tower cooler.
Living in tropical region sure doesn't help with cooling your hardware, you just need more powerful coolers to achieve same results.
Personally I would only go for coolers like h100, if it was some sff build, and there was limited space for large standard coolers in my case. In normal case there is usually very little to no point, if you can slap large tower air cooler brick, which will perform the same or better, and is just more simple design, there is no pump, which means it is less likely to malfuction and is quieter.

yeah .. one said to me it's all in one, and i still don't understand how it work??!!

i understand how custom water cooling works in principle, which there's a reservoir and the water goes from the CPU after heating to the radiator and back up from reservoir

and when it comes to liquid cooler like h100i, i'm actually don't know, i think that there's water in the radiator, and issue i'm thinking about is what's the type of this liquid and if it's other than water, then it is a type which doesn't evaporate .. this is the best i guess it's.

yea also i saw a video about 300R set and it has h80i.

>>> is h80i better than D14?

i saw benchmarks showed that D14 is very good air cooler .. it was very close to h100i in linustechtips video about the best cooler

this cooler still amazing to me !!

and where h100i is not fitting in 300R, then D14 is better than h80i, do you agree? because i have no practical exp
