connectivity issue with the macbook pro 15 and a 2k view sonic vp2770 monitor

So i have a 2k monitor from view sonic (vp2770) and I connect my macbook pro 15 inch to it via the expensive thunderbolt to dual link dvi adaptor from apple.

Both of the adapter and monitor work.

However, my monitor would goes off and quickly back on (within the matter of seconds) sometimes while I had my macbook plugged in.

It happened twice already since the day I started using the monitor and the issue tends to happen once in 2 weeks. I never had my monitor goes off and on while I was playing my playstation 4 on it(via hdmi port).

So I am not sure whats wrong with the monitor? Could it be the lack of sufficient power supplies that cause this issue? Have you guys experience this sort of problem before?

Thanks in advanced smile.gif

Sale the Apple dual dvi link adaptor and buy you a Display Port cable. Much reliable and cheaper as well.

I had a display port cable at the first place and it didn't even work. not enough power.

That is very strange. I have 3 MacBooks running 2 x 27" and 1 x 24" monitors over Display Port without any issues. I am not sure if I am following the "enough power" statement?
