Need HDMI cable recommendations for ASUS VN248H-P

Hi all,

So here's the scoop. I just made the move from my custom PC to a 27" iMac. I had two ASUS VN248H-P monitors that I used with my old PC. I used HDMI to DVI cables and the monitors worked flawlessly.

Moving to a three monitor setup with the iMac has caused these monitors to have some issues. They never wake up from sleep properly.

I think I've narrowed the cause down to switching to very old HDMI cables (using HDMI to mini display port converters to plug them into my iMac).

According to this article.

I'm trying to buy two new cables so the monitors function properly, but most cables do not provide what version of HDMI they are. Can anyone help me choose two HDMI cables to replace my old ones? I'd prefer Amazon since I have Amazon Prime, but any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks guys!

I believe the cables themselves are universal, while the only important thing to consider is the ports on the GPU and Monitor.

From what I've read I think the cables themselves have changed over the years.

Anyone know of any cables that are for sure HDMI 1.4 or HDMI 2.0?

If you're looking for cables that support HDMI 2.0, I'm fairly certain that the RedMere cables are 2.0 certified (or at the very least support the specifications). Here is a link to the cables from MonoPrice. If you want to go through Amazon, MonoPrice also sells their products there as well (here is a link to RedMere cables in general from Amazon and a link to a RedMere cable sold by MonoPrice from Amazon). If you're looking for HDMI 1.4/1.4a cables because they're cheaper, most (if not all) of MonoPrice's HDMI cables are 1.4 (though some of the cables don't have the Ethernet capabilities). As for purchasing HDMI 1.4 cables from Amazon, the first vendor I would suggest to look at would be MonoPrice.

Just to make sure its the cables, could you try running them 1 at a time off the mac? Im thinking you might be using passive DP converters where you need active ones and that will cause the monitors not to work.

Im still using HDMI cables from several years ago, like version 1.2 cables, and they work fine for everything ive plugged them into.
