Will this 270mm res fit in an Air 540 case?

Will a XSPC D5 Photon 270 Reservoir/Pump Combo fit in a Air 540 case put next to the SLI bridge bolted to the back. With the back fan taken out and a Rx240mm/push at the top.

Iv seen the 170mm fit fine. And cant seem to find the measurements of the inside of that case from top to bottom.

Wanting something like this. Just dont know the measurements.

The Photon 270 pump combo is 350 mm long (basically 13.8") and 85mm wide (same as the 170) http://www.frozencpu.com/products/21479/ex-pmp-264/XSPC_Photon_270_Tube_Glass_Cylinder_Reservoir_Pump_Combo_D5_Vario.html?tl=g30c97s152

The Air 540 is 457mm ( 18" high) outside dimensions.. just slightly less inside. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139022

So yea.. it should, if the 170 fits width wise, the 270 should fit height wise.

If you fit it with a 30mm thick rad, and 25mm fans... that will still leave around 400mm top to bottom under the rads and fans... to fit the 270mm into ...

Awesome sauce. Thanks for breaking it down for me. Looks like ill be buying the AIR 540 case. Been soooo long since i got a new case lol. My stuffs be thrown together on a table top for so long.

So even if there is a 56mm thick rad at top with 25mm fans it would fit?

So lets say inside length is 17.5" @ 444mm

444mm - 56mm - 25mm - 350mm= 13mm left. So it should work with a 56mm+25mm at top.

As long as as the Rad / fans clear any heatsinks or ram on the mobo, you should be fine with that. I have not actually used that case... so this is based on specs from the manufacturers (which are usually accurate).... so it should work! Do a build log on it... be interesting to see! thumb.gif

The one issue I ran into with my 540 is that I have 45mm radiator and 780 classy, which is a very long, very wide card. This combination made it so that I couldn't add a longer reservoir anywhere in the main compartment of the case.

Basically, what I'm saying is that long, wide cards may severely hamper your ability to add a reservoir.

Ya, but if you put the fans in the front on the out side, the front thing still fits on, just no more dust filter. That with a 56mm rez in side, leaves me about 13 inches for a graphics card.
And i think 780s are like 10.5 with a waterblock.

What kind of res are you using?

I'm using a 60mm EK X3 reservoir, and I do have the fans mounted on the outside and outside only in a push configuration.

I can tell you that it's not even close, I don't have measurements, and my pics are on my cell phone at home, but with the width and length of a 780 classy, matched with an alphacool xt45 on front and top mounts, you won't be able to fit a reservoir of any desirable length into the main compartment in a vertical alignment.

Theres tons of room for a Res as shown in the pics below. I want to put mine in the rear location.

heres an example

^I pretty much wanna do thislay out but with my stuff, but the res will have the D5 pump on the bottom.

The card is 11 inches long, but the classy is also about an inch to 2 inches wider than the pci bracket itself. You can see this clearly in any pictures of a 780 classified board. The cards that both of those builds use are standard width cards.

So once again, that one inch makes it impossible to mount a reservoir where they have theirs mounted, and also will make it so you can't mount the reservoir against the front radiator either.

You can disagree with me all you want, but don't be surprised if you get a wider and longer card if you can't make it fit.

Ya for you that suck 8(, for me it will be fine. That classy is like 1.5" wider then a normal 780 right? Why is that lol?
Wasent trying to argue, didnt understand your were saying your card was wider.
