It's scripted as in the playthrough isn't all a single take. Different people did different sections at different times, and then the whole thing was edited together as seamlessly as possibly.

I don't think so I get the feeling parts are scripted console commands to run through the maps.

It also stands to reason this is the case since there is no loss of momentum at what should be loading screens.

If this tell you anything it is this: Game makers learned their lesson about glitches. Imaging the level designers who watch this speed run and think "OMG I made that level."

Watching speed runners exploit lazy game development is a sure fired way to get the message across to those guys. Attention to detail matters!

Hmm 90% of it I can see but some of the things are just seem impossible and are way to fast to see onscreen much less move the mouse to do. Like the multiple sections where they shoot a box while flying that never even appeared on the screen yet.

Watching it in slowmo just makes some spots seems even more impossible.

Sorry, you don't make the rules. Speedrunning has always been completing the game as fast as possible without outisde modification. Anything you can do in game, is fair game. There's different categories, but terms like "glitchless" are frowned upon in the speedrun community. Some categories are more popular for different games, like the 120 star for Super Mario 64, which is more interesting to watch than say a 16 star or 0 star. On the other hand a 100% run in Ocarina of Time might not be as popular as an any% solely because of time. a 5 hour run vs 20 minutes. I don't know any game that's ran today that has a legitimate glitchless category, and if it does, it isn't taken seriously.

So did they lower gravity and friction to get that insane bunny hopping? I don't think you can do that in the normal game settings. You can do all sorts of fun things with the HL console.
Some of those parts even look like they move through areas in 1 frame. Crazy.

God this makes me miss Bunny hopping sooooo bad. I used to walk up to the local cafe back in the old days and troll kids knifing them as they got out of their spawn. Would have stacks of people behind my chair staring at my hands trying to learn how the hell I was flying across the map like that.
