Help with choosing PSU

Seeing as I'm in the process of choosing parts for my rig (For when I build it at least, hopefully within April or May with delay after delay after delay), it turned out that the hardest choice is about the PSU, as most of the other stuff apart from the GPU is alright.

So, to the point. The system specs will be something like this :
Case : It's a Phanteks Enthoo Primo, so space isn't an issue.
CPU : 4770k or 4670k (Doesn't matter for the PSU choice, they're the same in power consumption) which will be overclocked quite heavily under water (Corsair H100i or H110 initially, then custom when there's enough money again)
Mobo : Asus Maximus VI Formula
RAM : Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400MHz 16GB
SSD : Samsung 840 Evo 250 or 500 GB
HDD : Something for storage
GPU : Still haven't decided. Probably a 780ti Classy or else something quite cheaper, like a 780 DCUII or an r9 290. Maybe a 290x Lightning. It will 99% be a single card but there is a slim chance I will be adding a second one later. And when I say slim, it's slim. I'm using a 1080p screen for now and I think I'll hold out for 4K and skip 1440p. 2 high-end GPUs for 1080p is beyond stupid. Then again, so is a highly overclocked 780ti Classy...
PSU : Hah...

So, to the problem. I have a tendency towards the overkill side of things. Initially I had the Corsair AX860i (Or non-i for that matter,195€ and 170€ respectively), but that's too expensive and quite a lot of power for a system with a single GPU. Then I checked Corsair's RM series (Yes, I do have a tendency towards Corsair, but that's because I've had experience with them. I am open to other brands, however) and thought it was a good solution. Seeing the relevant thread in the forums, though, I changed my mind. Apart from these, Seasonics are badly overpriced here (Like 210€ for the X850), the Coolermaster ones seem like a nice option (Especially the V700 at 135€, but the V850 at 170€ isn't half-bad as an option) and so do the EVGAs (180€ for the SuperNOVA G2 1000 and 195€ for the 1300, both of which are massive overkill for my system, but who cares?). XFX's PSUs are good too, but there is limited selection here. The Pro line is available, but it's overpriced too, more than Seasonics.

Regarding wattage, I don't want under 650W (Or even 700W) even for a single GPU system because I don't trust a heavily overclocked system to a low wattage PSU (I've had 2 PSUs die on me from power draw spikes and one was disastrous). Regarding a possible second GPU, it's probably not going to be from this generation of GPUs from either team, so it's not really a factor. A 850W PSU should be enough for 2 GPUs without heavy overclocking, but I will probably upgrade my PSU anyway if I take the leap to a CF/SLI system.

So that's what's in my head so far. If anyone has a particular PSU in their minds and I haven't listed the price, post it and I'll check the price and post back. Unfortunately I don't live in the US/Canada, so no Newegg etc prices for me. Greek shops are a little weird with their prices...

Thanks in advance guys!

PS : I round prices a little higher than they really are to reflect how much it will cost with shipping. Typically it's about 2-7€, so no big deal.

Personally, i'd go with the V700. Its the cheaper and better compared to the options outlined. Where do you plan to purchase from ???Could you post a linky ??

First off, thanks for the quick answer. I'm leaning towards the V700 too. For a single GPU system a higher wattage unit probably won't make any difference and the 30-60€ I save by buying it can be better spent elsewhere. Plus its Seasonic guts make sure it's a quality option, and it's got the reviews to back it up. I just didn't know CM had any good PSUs prior to this past week. And it's not like an 80 Plus Platinum rated PSU will make any tangible difference regarding my electricity bill, so Gold's golden.

With that said, I didn't post where I'd buy from on purpose. See, there is a search engine that covers almost all of the Greek market called Skroutz (It should be Scrouge, but it's a thing with the translation). There are various shops I buy stuff from (Most being rather small businesses, large electronics chains try to rip us off big time), because there is basically no single shop that has everything and most have messed up pricing. There's a shop with good PSU prices, another with good RAM prices etc. Feel free to search yourself if you want, but that's why I said I'd do the searching. I had posted about it in another thread and a (otherwise very helpful) member of the forum got rather angry that I directed them to a Greek site (Reading Greek isn't possible for most). For the record, because Google Translate doesn't really do a good job, "Αναζήτηση" means "search", "από" means "from"... Whatever else, ask away. Helping you help me is the least I can do. smile.gif

EDIT : Just checked XFX PSUs again and I was wrong. Perhaps there were issues with availability and prices were higher than normal. Now they are available at reasonable prices, namely the Pro Series 750W Black Edition goes for 135€, the Pro Series 850W Black Edition is also 135€ (Just available at a store with kick-ass pricing) and the Pro Series 1050W BE is 195€. Hmmm...

This- Antec Although, i'm not sure its platinum as EA650 wasn't, but still worth cosidering for the price
This- Coolermaster
This- EVGA
This- Silverstone
This- XFX

These are my other suggestion comparative to the price points they are at

Although I do have higher wattages/efficiencies in mind, there is a chance that I will be limited by budget and I'll have to consider sub-100€ PSUs, so these are all very welcome suggestions. Thanks a lot pal!

The EVGA is by far the worst of those and the Cooler Master VS is the best

The Antec Earthwatts Platinum you picked also has pretty poor voltage regulation. The SilverStone is next up from the Antec and EVGA and next from the Antec is the XFX and the Cooler Master is the best

So, in general, what would you suggest? Only conditions are that it is 650W and over and costs less than 250€,preferably less than 200€. Thanks for your input!

Best options in that wattage area i can name is the Super Flower Leadex 650 or the Cooler Master V700. Caseking.de has the Leadex and some shops in the EU has it but the Cooler Master V is more common
