But the guy who invented fuel injection gets a ton of royalties.
Not that I've heard of. Though that is a broad statement. Fuel injection has existed for over a hundred years...AMC would probably be given the title of making fuel injection as we know it today and I think if they were collecting royalties on the engines using it they would still be in business.
So that is actually a good example of a good process appearing in an industry and spreading. Though every system will have its own tweak on it. Which is what we see on Cell phones for the most part. At a glance they are the same, but under the hood there are differences. These differences are patented...but no one "owns" fuel injection. If so...it will be the first I've heard it mentioned.
If Apple seriously wins and the world upholds their patent of a rectangular device with a touch screen...I am going back to a flip phone and buy an Android tablet. Might as well patent the car...or rather an oblong device with wheels.Edited by Vagrant Storm - 4/14/14 at 2:09pm
