Why not make them EK?

So EK recently launched their Gigabyte 780 TI WF3 Waterblock. Can't they just make a universal one for the AMD R9 280X WF or even the 290s. frown.gif

No.

Cause EK hates amd like everyone else. No soup for you.

I am so kidding its not even funny tongue.gif

check their cooling configurator, the 280X is a rebranded 7970 so there is a possability that those waterblocks would fit(depends if the card has a custom PCB or not).

EK has seperate waterblocks for the 290/290X and 780TI, they cant make a universal one due to the differences in the PCB.

I was eating while I posted so it was really short. I wasn't really asking but was mentioning the fact that ek probably does have a block that fits the 280x and it might be listed as a 7970 block. But if the 280x he is talking about is non-reference than it might not work.

Like you said maybe the cooling configurator could help him out.

Also the universal 7970 blocks might fit non-reference 280's. Not really sure. I have a 290x lightning that I am using a universal block for.

Also my ek vga supremacy universal block does fit both my 780 ti kingpin and my 290x lightning.

What do you mean it doesn't fit? Does this mean even my 280X Rev 2 from gigabyte can't tkae the EK supremacy?

EDIT:
Here it shows that the 290X lightning can use the supremacy. http://coolingconfigurator.com/step1_complist?gpu_gpus=1395
This kinda scares me now to buy the block and not being able to use it.

yes the ek vga supremacy nickel bridge edition will work with your card. there are no full cover blocks for it. the ek vga universal block works with most cards. the way the mounting holes are setup the block can adapt to different size mounting holes.

mine works with both my kingpin and 290x lightning
