Fractal Design Define Refine R4 Questions

Hey guys, I have decided this is the case I will go with. I just have some simple questions for you guys.

  1. There is a irregular expansion slot on the back and in a video someone said I could put a fan controller there. Can I? Would it be a 5.25" fan controller or a special one? Google hasn't helped me so far.
  2. Would having only one exhaust fan with 5 intake fans be a good idea?
  3. Would I want to keep the front case door open, or closed when gaming for max airflow? Would it matter due to the side intake holes?

Question #1 Video link: http://youtu.be/j9B1QXsUI5g?t=7m40s

What I am thinking fanwise:

2 140mm Static fans (INTAKE)
2 120mm fans on top cooling h100i radiatior (INTAKE)
1 120mm fan on bottom of case next to psu slot. (INTAKE)
1 140mm fan at back top (EXHAUST)

If you have this case, please tell me your experiences with it!

Nevermind everybody, I got all of these questions answered on another forum. Due to wanting to help others in the future with the same question, I will provide C+P solutions to my answer.

1) Pretty sure that's a PCI expansion slot. I recommend you go for a 5.25" bay Fan Controller instead.
2) No. It's generally a good idea to have a Positive air pressure setup to reduce dust, but I wouldn't recommend a 5:1 intake:exhaust ratio.
3) Doesn't even matter. I've personally tested this and leaving it closed (on my Elite 431) results in a <3*C difference.

1.) Ehh, shame I guess. I will cut out a possible drive bay and use an external one when needed. SD Card reader and fan controller it is!
2.) Well, what should I do then? It would be odd to have a exhaust fan on the bottom of the case, and I can't use exhaust on the front 2 fans and the top 2 fans on the h100i. >:C
3.) Oh, thanks.

Use bottom intake and the two fans on the H100 in exhaust by sandwiching the radiator between the fans and the top of the case?

ACTUALLY LOOK! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqLxS38SCVA

I could put the h100i where the drive bays are, and scoot the driver bays over a little. I will only need 3 3.5" drive bays so meh, and there is 2 spots for SSD's on the back where cable managment is.

Now, I have another question: She says I can use a slim 240mm radiator. Would the h100i be considered "slim"?

I hope so because it would seem logical to use the 3 top fans as exhaust ahaha.

I don't see why you would chuck the 240 rad out front when you can mount it on the top?

Because I want the exhaust air to be on top due to the scientific fact that hot air goes up silly <3

And now that I think about it, would having the bottom fans as intake and top fans as exhaust make a neutral airflow? Haha.

1. Place H100i with fans as exhaust at top
2. ????
3. Profit.

Generally you want bottom, front and side as intake with rear and top being exhaust. Many people use top exhaust with radiators. You may get lower temp if you use the H100i as an intake, but I doubt it would be more than a few Celsius.

Ehh, I will look at the front 240mm spot option first, but I may do that otherwise.

Ok, the site says the radiator itself is 27mm. I would be moving the harddrive cage over about an inch or less.

I will luckily be able to test this myself before I buy it due to being friends with the owner of a computer hardware store.
