We strictly require a valid proof of purchase (scan, photo or screenshot of the invoice) of both a Noctua CPU cooler...
They REALLY need a proof, a simple photo of me owning one won't be enough. Hmm... Guess I'll try to buy the Noctua NM-i115x SecuFirm2™ Mounting-Kit standalone, if possible.

All that being said (going back to the original post), I'll have no choice to mount the stock hsf for now anyways.

Did you buy it online?

Should still be in your shopping history.

I know from newegg I can pull any invoice up from any time.

Well what others have said.

If you have the 1156 bracket then it will work.

1156 is the same as 1155 and 1150

maybe look on ebay for a cheap bracket then?

Should beat paying $40+ for a new HS.

If indeed my hsf is the Noctua NH-U9B SE, then the list shows it would be compatible. I'm just not 100% this is the one (there's nothing written/engraved on the hsf), I know it was the NH-U9 series... If it's just the plain NH-U9B or F, then I would need the extra mounting kit. just googling at picture doesn't tell me without a doubt which one I have, they all look the same lol!

Old coolers are compatible with new CPUs but they often need updated mounts to be compatible to newer mounting patterns.
Models of Noctua coolers sold that were sold years ago do not have current mounting. Some have been discontinued. Noctua will still supply update mounting kits for them. I had a NH-U12P SE1366 and the sent me an upgrade mount for it with only a picture to prove I owned it.
