constant crashes when playing bf4

Well all in all bf4 was running great on my system(see below) i decided to make an open air bench case and re assembled everything. the only thing I changed was I swapped my vapor x from the top slot to the one where my dual x was, besides that nothing is different.

Booted back up and tried to play and it froze in the first 30 seconds kept trying till finally I decided to uninstall and load the pre release 14.4 beta drivers same thing but runs smoother and stays for a little longer.

decided to use DDU reloaded 14.4 same thing, ddu again with 13.3 yet again the same.

then I though hey maybe its my over clock, defaulted and still happened.

removed my gpu over clock, disabled avast, exited afterburner still nothing changed. cant get through a full game.

not sure what else to try, I'm running less fans now but that shouldnt matter temps are fine.

I then looked at my event viewer nothing.

I decided today it has to be something to do with me only using one pci power cable to both 8+6 pin on my dual x.

it passes benchmarks just fine so i'm not sure if its something with windows 8.1 or bf4.

I just added a second cable to just the 6 pin and hopefully it will stop.

anyone have any thoughts?

thanks

hey,
whats the crash like? Is it complete lockup, does it say anything in origin?

When the game is running , I use to open my task manger and see a big impact from bf4 before having a memory crash. All the updates have fixed my problems though.

Is it punkbuster maybe booting you out? Does it matter if your playing single player? I've never went with 8.1 yet....I just don't trust it.

the crash varies from either a complete lock up to most often just freezes then I cant end the prcess and be fine.

I swapped my cards around and it was playing fine then I got A dx hang after switching from mantle to dx so tis not just a mantle issue.

disabled ulps on this reboot to try and test again.

before I was getting a red screen when watching youtube but that is now gone.

I also just removed and reinstalled punk buster so I will test again

.

it doesnt make sense how I go from playing great to it crashing every single game

I tried disabling x fire before and it still did the same thing but havent tried in a while

Has to be software related.
