Back when I mined XPM and LTC at the same time, I used Process Lasso to automatically set process priority and affinity for my mining processes after reboots.

If I remember correctly, some TX650's were Seasonic and others were CWT. You'd have to Google the part number. Edit: TwoCables be me to it.

And if I can get away with mining on four 7950's with an HX850, two 7950's with a TX650 should be fine. biggrin.gif

He won't have to Google it. See my post above. :)

Purchase date is irrelevant because there's no way to know what exact model was picked up off the shelf in the warehouse. You could order a TX650 today from some stores and run the risk of getting the original. This is the way it is with all products. Of course, if your order is shipped and sold from like say Amazon.com or Newegg.com, then the chances of getting an old model are extremely low due to the popularity of the store.

It doesn't matter though: all of the TX650s are good PSUs.

After looking again at Phaedrus2129's "On Corsair" article which I posted an excerpt from above, I see that the TX650-C is a CWT PSH-II. I don't know how this compares to the other two TX650s, but again, it doesn't matter because all of the TX650s 750s, and 850s are good PSUs (and so is the TX950).

Well I was expecting to be testing my dual 7950 setup by this weekend but the seller on eBay hasn't even shipped yet and the auction ended Monday. So much for "Expedited shipping". eBay case opened (though I'm not holding my breath for anything quick to happen). If you sell something on eBay and say you ship within two days of payment, you better freaking do it. /RANT

Finally got the second 7950 installed and it works perfectly!

I even mined using both cards all night and the TX650 drew ~630w at the wall, which at 80% efficiency is ~504 watts by the hardware. PSU fan barely sped up and heat output wasn't all that much.

But the main reason I cross-fired was for games and they run smooth as silk with just about every game's settings maxxed out on ultra @ 1080p.

Thank you everyone for feedback on my original question.

BTW, I added two more 6-pin PCIe connectors to the TX-650 by chopping off the extra set of SATA connectors I wasn't using and soldering on the PCIe connectors. I figured SATA connectors aren't designed for all that current and could melt or burn.

I think I may get away with FOLDING next winter without a new PSU based on these findings smile.gif

This PSU is a Bronze-rated PSU which means the efficiency is more than likely about 85%, which would be about 535W being pulled out of the PSU.

Oh man, I'm experiencing that right now. I just upgraded from the GTX 580 DirectCU II to the GTX 780 DirectCU II and now I'm getting that "smooth as silk" performance. I call it "liquid smooth". hehe

You could, but if you Fold on both the CPU and the 7950s at the same time, then you will want to make it part-time folding and not full-time 24/7 folding.
