Nvidia 7xx Series has afterburner volt mod now...(for a while actually.)

On average people are getting 1400MHz or more core clock
AVERAGE.

Makes me want Nvidia atm, even though I am admittedly amd fanboy x999.....(for the most part)

can you get 1400 on air on a 770?
You can do some searches on the internet for 280x vs gtx 770 and get some comparisons easy enough. There are pluses and minuses for each of the gpu but overall they are about even with maybe a slight edge given to the 770. Both can usually be overclocked well. If you plan on multi gpu and/or multi monitor gaming, IMO, Nvidia/SLI is more preferable based on my own experience between the two.

MAN YOUR TRI-SCREEN SETUP LOOKS SO CRAZY!!!! I need to try to that at least once in my life lol. And yeah, this is my first build. But I'll be using my futur rig mostly for gaming. I'll buy a first screen and add a second when I'll have enough money. Dual screen isn't optimized for gaming?

The 990FXA-UD3 is only 1 dollars cheaper biggrin.gif . I don't think it's worth. For the water cooling, I've read that the least expensive one that's still remain decent is the h80 and the h100i is only 10$ more.

Gigabyte has been much better than AssRock for me, the 990FXA-UD3 is one of the best AM3+ boards you can get out there, the asrock one isnt that cool, just mid range board with random "gaming colours".

If you plan to go with 3 screens, go directly with the 280x thumb.gif, a second one can be easily added and will scale well in games, new drivers are much better, forget about peple who talk about AMD drivers being crap, they used to, but now they have improved a lot, and CrossfireX does scale well.

A 770 with 2Gb won´t be enought for 3 screens, even 2, you´ll need to get the 4Gb 770 which is much more expensive.

You shouldn´t worry about PhysX, and AMD has Mantle

LOL, I will have to tell my setup that. It games very well across three monitors and vastly superior to the two 7950s I had in there before. Hopefully AMD did get their driver crap together though.

Maybe because a 7950 isn't the same as a 770? lol

A 770 is basically a 680

A 280X is basically a 7970

7970>7950

It isnt fair to compare two 7950 vs two 770

The AsRock seemed to have nice features like ehternet chipset and the audio chipset. What does the 990FXA-UD3 has more?

If both card haves even, I think I'll get the r9 280x because of the Vram. Games might ask more Vram in the futur and the GTX 770 4gb version is almost the same prices as the r9 290.

Thanks a lot for your help. If decide to buy an r9 280x ( I'm still not sure yet ), which one should I get?

Pure marketing, theres no real difference between the ethernet chip in both boards as both support 10/100/1000 ethernet, and on onboard audio, the diferences aren't noticeable, both support 7.1, rest is pure marketing thumb.gif

I own a Gigabyte 280x Rev 2 and it runs cool and quiet but I've heard good things about the MSI 280x too
