The problem is this adds lots of work for what may already be busy mods.
I actually quite like the limit 1 thread per 24 hours idea, but these bots will just make tons of accounts to get around that. They also tend to make accounts and leave them unused to try to pass a timed post limit.
It is this bad on most internet forums, not just here. Report and move on I guess.
all 1 thread per 24 hours does it to annoy legitimate users. spammers would still spam at every opportunity

captcha is horrible too, so many times i've failed it that i just ended up rage quitting.
what i think is to have some sort of limitation imposed on new account creation like the threads they can post in and the total amount of posts they can make and have a mod approve the account before given full access
sure this would create more work for the admin staff but it beats spammers and im sure there are plenty of volunteers for account moderation
