The GTX 750 Ti is a great card for the wattage, this is what the MSRP should have been IMO if the AMD radeons hadn't been inflated (i.e. just undercutting R7 265, but above r7 260X).

The caveat here is that the EVGA GTX 750 Tis have an issue with fan speeds (they're using 2 pin fans with no speed sensing à la reference) and 40% min fan in vBIOS.

http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=2132418

An issue that would be a larger problem if you plan on keeping this for years on end is the Iron choke and d-pak used (à la Nvidia reference design), which can be a problem for component lifetime if you stress it and also efficiency / coil whine.

The difference between the SC model and the "base" model would be the copper core in the heatsink.

However, the EVGA GTX 750 Tis do manage to have Displayport , which is a requirement for G-SYNC. Zotac's Dual fan model (ZT-70602-10M) and the Galaxy GC have it too.

Repped Was thinking of replacing a GTX 470 with this for my lady's rig. Would the performance be around the same between the two cards?

1,020 MHz vs 700 MHz - More than 45% higher clock speed
memory clock speed vs 5,400 MHz vs 3,348 MHz - More than 60% higher effective memory clock speed
More memory 2,048 MB vs 1,280 MB - 60% more memory
Higher pixel rate 33.06 GPixel/s vs 19.6 GPixel/s - Around 70% higher pixel rate
Higher texture rate 82.64 GTexel/s vs 39.2 GTexel/s - More than 2x higher texture rate
Much higher memory clock speed 1,502 MHz vs 837 MHz - Around 80% higher memory clock speed
Slightly better floating-point performance 1,728 GFLOPS vs 1,254 GFLOPS - Around 40% better floating-point performance
Slightly better passmark direct compute score 1,677 vs 1,340 - More than 25% better passmark direct compute score

750 TI will smoke that old GTX 470 - AND WITH WAY LOWER POWER CONSUMPTION

I'm waiting, too. Given I don't game much anymore, I sold off my 780Ti. These low power cards are very intriguing. When the price drops a little more I'll replace my 580 lightning XE.

I dont have any real experience with either of the two, but a little bit of research tells me that the 750ti and 265 are pretty similar in performance when both are OCed. The thing that interests me most is the size and power consumption/heat from the 750ti.

Unless a system is running 24/7 and you do regular gaming or other GPU-stressing activities, I doubt you will recuperate the costs from replacing a GPU through electricity bills.

Even if you do save 50W * 12hr a day, we are talking $30-35 a year in the US.

In case of the 580, you might drop 50W (idle vs. idle) but in most cases we are looking at far less than that.

If the case was gaming with a 480/580 or some other relatively outdated power-hogging-beast vs gaming with a 750Ti, sure, savings add-up.
