Cheap upgrade that supports dual monitors

Thread Starter
Looking for an affordable solution for an upgrade. Currently have a 9800GT and the only reason there is a need to upgrade is because they want to be able to use dual monitors. We don't need anything fancy, just reliable and able to do this task. Thanks for any suggestions.

9800GT's support dual screens, so are they trying to do something else with it that requires more power while running two screens? or what?

Your question doesn't really make a lot of sense.

Your question doesn't really make a lot of sense.

It only has 1 vga and 1 dvi connection. So I guess I have to connect one via VGA and 1 via DVI. Seems they would have just offered up 2 digital connections. Maybe I will just get a DVI-VGA adapter. I can't remember if the card had a HDMI port?

Something like THIS I guess? You could probably get something even cheaper used through ebay/marketplace.

You can run one monitor off the DVI and one off the VGA, no adapter required. They don't have to be all digital or all analog for the card to be able to run multiple monitors. Just plug them all it and it should work.

Actually, for the money, EVGA GT 630 every day of the week. They last a lot longer and are actually a direct replacement of a 9800GT for $65 flat. I just built a computer with 6 of them in it for running a huge monitor array.
