You are doing that all of the time in fact I don't know what we are talking about here anymore.

I had 2 OCZ Vertex 3 drives in RAID0. I couldn't get them to last 3 months without needing a secure erase or RMA. I have since moved them to other machines and have had no further problems with them. Other than in benchmarks, I haven't noticed a difference in speed going from 2 SSDs in RAID0 to a single SSD.

That's exactly what I am talking about. You try it you didn't like it and you move on.
I also tried overclocking CPU and I didn't like it because I didn't see difference in speed and I was scared about my CPU.But that doesn't mean I will not help anybody to overclock same.
END of story.

To be honest, I wish someone had told me to stop. I would have saved some money. Obviously, if a person really wants to try something, then more power to them. But others may see people talking about SSDs in RAID0 and if they didn't see any warnings, assume there's no risk involved. If someone said upfront that they understand the risks then I would find people telling them to stop annoying since the original poster already accepted the risk that comes with it, but otherwise...

the difference is that he didn't make a thread about how we have all been lying about the risks of RAID0. By making a thread like this you are basically calling everyone out, what did you expect?

If someone wants help setting up RAID0 yes of course ill still help them, but you are increasing the risk to your data with little to no benefit. Very few people need massive sequential speeds which is all RAID0 is going to give you (especially with an onboard raid controller)

So what ,there is no risk if data is only on one SSD.Do you maybe suggest that we don't need back up if we have single set up?
6% risk on two SSD in RAID 0 or 1% risk on a single SSD is still a risk ,so back up is only option here.

Not at all. I didn't know anything about SSDs when I had that setup. I would have considered input from someone more experienced than I. Doesn't mean I'd actually follow what they say.

I never said there wasn't risk storing data on a single SSD, I recommend backups for everything. There's also risk when backing up. Backups don't always restore properly, backup drives fail, etc, etc. But if there's significantly more risk with SSDs in RAID0 vs a single SSD, I think people should know about it. I watercool and overclock, but that doesn't mean I don't tell people who want to do the same that there's an increased chance of hardware failure.

Same question to you. Are you suggesting we don't need back up if we have single set up.It seems to me that you do,so you are the one that is putting peoples data in risk.
