I have 2 weeks left on my 2-year plan with Verizon. I work in midtown Manhattan and during the course of my contract period, data coverage has become virtually non-existent in or near my office, and the speed at my apt in Brooklyn is steadily decreasing. It’s to the point where I often can’t refresh email while walking anywhere near Grand Central. If I find a spot with working 3G and my phone switches to 4G, the data connection often completely stops working. My friends who work in the same area have the same issue.

Do any carriers have working LTE in midtown? I’ve read reports that Verizon has super fast service in NYC, but that’s just not the case in midtown. If I have to keep paying $100 a month for dial-up speeds I’m going to throw a fit.

edit - I just went to the Verizon store in Grand Central to check out the data connections. The display phones pretty much all had full 4g and were fast while my old Galaxy Nexus had 1 bar of 4g and was slow. So my phone does seem to be an issue.
