New Razer Deathadder 2013 - Loose Buttons?

Hello everyone,

after using a Logitech G5 for almost 7 years I decided to replace it with something new, because my good old G5 started to have some problems tracking on my clothpad ( similar problem here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1472543/logitech-g5-stopped-tracking-on-cloth-pad).
So, I read a lot about gaming mice online, tried out some of them at a electronics store and purchased a Deathadder 2013 a few days ago. I really like the design, feel and grip of the DA 2013.
But... I noticed that both buttons are a bit "loose". There is a small gap between the button and the switch under it.

Is this normal? I hope/guess not....

This is a bit of a turn-off for me regarding the building quality of the razer mice...

What would be a better alternative for me?

Although I used the G5 for 7 years, I don't like the G400s, because I don't know where to put my ring finger wink.gif The Steelseries Rival feels great, but I read a lot about problems. The Corsair M45 seems a bit too small for me. The Avior/Naos 7000 looks fantastic, but are hard to get here in germany.... I really don't know which other mouse to pick...

I have pretty big hands and I mostly palm ( sometimes a kind of claw/palm) grip my mouse.

Thanks!

Have you looked at the G502? It is the perfect spiritual successor to the G5.

The G502 indeed looks very interesting. It's around 80 € here in germay - that's quite a lot, but I plan to keep whatever mouse I pick in the next weeks for at least a few years - like my G5 before ( hopefully it won't break any time in the near future wink.gif ).

The shape of the G502 seems to lack the annoying lip on the right side ( like the G5, G500s and the G400s). That lip is really uncomfortable, because it kills my ring finger.

Another possible alternative for me would be the Steelseries Rival, but although the grip and feel is nearly perfect there are some things I don't like about the Rival. It feels a bit cheap, the buttons on the side feel loose and are not responsive enough, the scroll wheel could be a lot better and last but not least during my tests in the store the left and right button did collide sometimes which is unacceptable.

So, I guess I'll return the DA 2013 and get the G502 which is available on Amazon.de now.

Saw your other thread in the G502 thread.
But yeah, that's how deathadders are.
The buttons are integrated with the shell; that's why they feel like crap.
you'll love the G502 buttons; as (I assume, like the G5), they are completely independent of the shell housing.
It's just the weight and (for some people, the mouse feet) that have people wanting to franken502 the mouse.
