Really? So they created it just for fun, and have no intention of trying to take marketshare from other mobile OSes?
Google on the other hand, won't support Windows Phone at all due to Microsoft constantly attacking its efforts at all angles outside of the marketplace
That's a two-way street. Google has the upper hand in the mobile market to the same extent that Microsoft does in the desktop OS market, and they've used this position to obstruct Microsoft whenever they can, such as when MS developed a better YouTube app than Google's own, and Google first blocked it, then later invoked some arcane rule in their terms of service to make them withdraw it altogether.
Google's business practices and constant spying on the users of its services make the Microsoft of the late 1990s look a paragon of business ethics. I'm not at all sympathetic to Microsoft getting a taste of its own medicine, but Google is as bad as Microsoft ever was. Actually worse, since they're making all this money and got into this position on the backs of the open-source community. At least Microsoft got rich actually writing their own operating systems.
