Temps wise, the best cooler would be the Tri-X from Sapphire. If it can cool the 290X so effectively, it can easily do the same or better with the 290 chip:

Visiontek offers a 290 with an EK block factory installed so this will be covered by the warranty.


If you don't wanna go custom cooling, NZXT offers the Kraken gpu kit. Its basically a CLS (like cpu CLS coolers) with brackets and fans to attach to a gpu.

well that's the gpu were going to order, as for the block my wife is a computer parts buyer for intel corp (18 years) and frozencpu is on her vendor list so I might get a deal.
