I figured as much that I need to upgrade the cooling on the 290x to get the heat away from the 295x2. I like the looks of that corsair bracket and probably will go with that when it releases rather than give away my 290x for crap.

Its not prettied up or anything since I didn't care about cable management. I just wanted to eliminate a metal plate and remove two HDD cages but this is how its currently sitting until I extend the loop and slap a matching EK block and backplate on the 290X.

Thanks a lot for the tip!
For some reason, when i enter the Test range everything works like 1 fps per 3-4 secs and it is impossible to do anything. I managed to get into the campaign and adjust the resolution, so every time i make the game to run in 1080p, it does exactly what you said: the game triples itself across all monitors. But when i set the resolution to 5760x1080, there is only one middle screen, that shows the game as if it would run in 1080p, while the monitors on the sides show absolutely nothing, but a black screen.

i have this issue with random games ( looking at you batman idr which off the top of my head )

But the BF4 HAS to work fine, since it is an AMD approved or whatever game! But i just can't make it run on all my monitors! It can only launch itself in 1080p on three monitors at the same time, if i choose 1920x1080 in the settings, or it will run itself in just one 1080p in the middle monitor, if i choose 5760x1080 in the settings tab mad.gif However, Crysis 3 and Metro: LL work absolutely flawlessly in eyefinity, all maxed out with AA on medium!

Hey folks.

I currently have an R9 295x2 in my system that replaced my old Gigabyte R9 290 OC. I'm interested in continuing to use my R9 290 in tri-fire, and when I do so I'm planning on removing the Gigabyte windforce cooler and putting on a Kraken G10 bracket and a 280mm rad.

Perhaps in the future I'd look at a complete custom loop, but it really depends on money and things.

But regardless! The question I wanted to ask was - Would a 1350W Silver PSU work for a Tri-fire setup?

Currently I'm running a 4960k w/ an H110 cooler and 4x 4gb sticks of G.skill ares ram (1600 right now, rated for 1866). +Blu-ray optical, 1TB SSD and 2TB regular internal HHD.

Unless you're running insane overclocks system-wide you should not have any trouble running those two cards together.

Edit: More important than the wattage is the amperage and whether the PSU is multi-rail or single 12V rail. I would suggest going with a single rail design over multi-rail but that is just one man's opinion.
I'm not much of an overclocker - yet. Right now I just want to make the most of my existing hardware so I can count on it for the next year or two hopefully. And having things run cool and relatively quiet is always nice.

The amp specs are: +3.3V@25A, +5V@25A, +12V1@60A, +12V2@60A, -12V@0.8A, +5VSB@3.5A

My current supply is 62 Amps on one 12v rail, which is nice. Only 1000W capacity though. I'd prefer the single rail, but its a nice deal on the power supply.

Yeah you should be fine then. You're just going to need to figure out which 8-pins go to which 12V rail so that you have the 295X2 connected by itself on one 12V rail while the 290X is connected on the other 12V rail. You also want to connect any other 12V components to that 290X rail since the 295X2 alone demands 50A.

VRM fan control mod video is up - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7qlmcp1aVE&feature=youtu.be

It's my first try at this, so go easy tongue.gif

Hopefully someone will still find it useful!

Thank you!

By the way, are you still having any issues with BF4 in crossfire? I finally found a fix for it! It totally eliminated any stuttering for me, the game is buttery smooth now in crossfire + eyefinity.
