Anyone have Watch_Dogs & experience the issue of the game just plain not starting? It worked fine when I launched it 2 days ago with the R9 290 I was running, and that was on the same drivers. I already did a "verify files & repair", and I've disabled Crossfire to see if maybe QuadFire was the issue.

I click play, it acts like the game is going to load... then a few moments later another "Loading" cursor happens & it acts like the game closed. O_o Anyone experience this & know how to fix it? I tried a quick Google search but nothing is coming up that will help (update drivers, etc, all of which I've done for the card install)

Do you have afterburner running? I remember one time it just stopped loading for me with afterburner running in the background for no reason on that game.

What I did was after the repair of the files, I closed UPlay, disabled Crossfire, restarted Afterburner etc that stops working whenever you mess with Crossfire settings, ran the game, closed everything out again, reenabled Crossfire & it worked after that.

Having an issue with what seems to be the GPUs going in to low power state even though they're no where near overheating (I'm playing with 144Hz on VSync on, so they're only hitting the high 40s/low 50s in game). I was about 3/4s of the way through the first mission, exiting the stadium when my FPS went from pretty much always pegged at 144FPS to down in the 60s & 70s with the GPU core speeds in the 500-700MHz range, like it does when you're watching a video or something.

I had the same issue with just 2 way crossfire & Metro Last Light as well, guess I'll have to do some research & see if there's any easy fix for it, other than disabling ULPS, which I obviously don't wanna do since these things suck a lotta power when they're not allowed to drop in to full idle mode.

My case is a HAF X so I should be able to fit everything in. I have speced up the following WC components after doing some online research and wanted to make sure I wasn't going down totally the wrong path! If you have any advice on different components etc. it that would be much appreciated as well!

- EK Water Blocks EK-FC R9-295X2 - Acetal+Nickel
- XSPC D5 Dual Bay Reservoir/Pump Combo V2
- XSPC RX360 Triple Fan Radiator V3 (Noctura fans in Push/Pull)
- Koolance CPU-380A Water Block (AMD FX9370 Processor)
- Monsoon 16/11mm (ID 7/16 OD 5/8) Free Center Compression Fitting Six Pack - Green
- Mayhems Ultra Pure H2O 5Ltr
- XSPC HighFlex Hose 7/16" ID, 5/8" OD, 15.9/11.1mm, 2m, Green/UV Green
- Mayhems Fine Silver Kill Coil

As I say, totally new to water cooling so if I've made any glaring errors I'm happy to learn smile.gif
Hi mate.
I was doing my wcooling in the past few months so if u go back in the thread u will see my pics + discussion about cooling 295x2.

From my point of view, Aquacomputer gpu block is the best one for 295X2 + they have active backplate which is also the best one. I also think it looks the best smile.gif
One 360mm rad will not handle cpu+295X2. Ur water temp will be rly high.I think 2x360mm rad is minimum for "acceptable" water temps.
Also, do not use silver kill coil with nickel plated blocks as it may corrode the nickel plating on blocks(wash it away). Rather use Mayhems X1 which contains the needed inhibitors and biocides to protect ur loop.
I also believe that EK makes the best CPU blocks, EK Supremacy EVO or even older EK Supremacy.

Considering the fact they ship it with a single 120mm rad and you can cool a 4790k adequately with a single 120mm rad, a single 360 can at least handle the situation. Water temps might get a bit into the 50s but that's still going to give better core temps than stock 295x2. I run trifire with a 295 x2 and a 4820k on a 360 and a 280 and it's not ideal but the 295 doesn't throttle like it does stock.

That said obviously more rads is better. Long as they have fans on em.

Speaking of poorly optimized games that won't start, Assassin's Creed Unity won't open up at all for me. I launch it, it gives me the little splash logo in the middle of the screen, and then nothing ever happens. Anyone familiar with this?

Theres no point in custom wcooling and spend ****load of money to have 50C water and 5C better temps on core lol.
When I had my stock cooler, push pull SP120 performance ed, the card was never throttling unless I run furmark. Even tho, the rad temps spiked to high 40 which I dont consider "ok". Imho the stock cooler has not nuff cooling capacity considering how hot the card is. If it was 290X it would be ideal but not for 295X2 and I', not even talking about VRMs. Before I added mora to my system I run 2x240mm push pull rads and water temp was about 32C looping valley which I also dont believe is "ok" considering the fact that ambient temp is 19-22C.

Well this all is just about personal opinion and it may differ so...cheers.gif

Some people just want to go h20 for the looks. I am tapped out as far as radiator space and unwilling to go bigger. This is also why I'm building a sli rig with 980s. I'll take that beer though!

Just caught up on last few pages....

Regarding orientation of the rad, I found it made a big difference for me to orientate it the right way - i.e. with tubes at the bottom. I initially had it so the tubes were on the side and I kept on getting throttled. After reorientation temps dropped and no more throttling, so I guess there's some air in there?

I also added a couple of Coolermaster Jetflo's hooked up in push/pull, connected to my fan controller with a Y splitter. If I dial them all the way up (2160rpm) it sounds like a jet engine but I don't top 50C!

As such I've now overclocked to the Sapphire spec (1030 / 1350, no change to voltage) and everything is cool, literally!

What would you consider to be "ok" at 19-22C ............ 18-21C? rolleyes.gif

Adding 10-15C to would be a nicely tuned system unless you're running TEC's.
