is there a good place to get this card with a warranty? ( i wouldnt mind paying extra for the warranty)

If you contact the seller on used ones, most are willing to help with any warranty needs. Other then that, buy it new if you can find it. Most etailers are price gauging since its now a rare and eol item. PowerColor has the new devil which is essentially based on the old devil 290Xx2.

You're a few months late. Best time would have been right before the new gen launch and just after. They were going for ~$600-700

Good luck on new and if you have any q's buying used, some of use have lots of sales/buying experience, so don't hesitate to ask thumb.gif

The new devil is 2x290 not 2x290X.

cores are 390, essentially reworked 290s, but the board is based of the devil 290Xx2 from the looks. So, its a reworked old devil. I doubt they would do a brand new board as they seemed to have lots of the old devils still available. By the reviews, the 390 is slightly better then the 290x, so it still better then the old devil imho.

so its not exactly the same as the old but its a bit better. Drm8627 is looking for a new reference but they're have appreciated now and it won't be worth twice the price of a used unit that still has warranty. The new devil would be a good alternative.

Certainly understood, I'll give it a go when all of the parts arrive.

I don't think I've heard an answer about Windows 7, is this going to make any difference as long as I am still running Windows 7 (in boot up time at least)? I'd like to give Win 10 a bit more time to work through the kinks.
